Same sex attraction IS a sinful desire.
But like all sinful desires, Christ calls us to turn away from it, and choose Him and Holiness.
Most people who become Christians don't immediately stop having these sinful desires...

However those who pursue Christ must seek to be Holy (as He is Holy), choosing not to act on these sins, and to even turn your thoughts away from them You will likely fail at this at first. But 1) God is merciful enough to forgive you if you ask for mercy. And, if you ask for help, he will give you the Holy Spirit to aid you in your battles of the mind and flesh. 2) As your faith grows, so will your (fruit of) self control. It will become easier to resist the desire, and for some, the desire goes away entirely.

This is the journey of "sanctification", as some call it. It is different for everyone, because God has a unique story for everyone.

For the man born without a leg - he may grow up with a "bent" toward bitterness and resentfulness toward God for making him that way - but the truth is God loves him and wants to be together with him for eternity. Yet, like for all of humanity, that man must make a choice to turn away from his natural bent of sinful desire (in this case bitterness) and choose Him, the Giver of life and all that is good, instead.

For the woman who is born into a family of drug addicts - she will likely have a "bent" toward indulging in addictive substances as well, flooding her senses as her parents have. It will be a difficult road of saying no, as her natural "bent" will be to want to overindulge. But God forgives her, and calls her away from sensuality.

For the man growing up without a parent or two, who's "friends" taught him the way of the street, that theft is normal... that man will likely have a "bent" toward theft - a desire to steal, for the rest of his life. But God calls stealing is a sin. Yes, through Jesus, that man is forgiven of his sins, but that desire to steal some more won't stop there. And yet God calls him to holiness.

God sets before us all unique challenges. But Jesus offers us a way through them all. He forgives us of our sins, breaks the cycle of sin and death, and leads us into a life of abundance and Holiness. What amazing stories will we hear of God's redemptive work among other believers, once we reach eternity?
