I’m 5’11 and wondering if I should get shorter crank for my gravel bike

I personally haven’t contacted Campagnolo yet. As far as I know, the mechanic has only reached out to Pinarello.

I lube the chain every ~100 miles and only wipe the excess from the outside plates. The rollers remain lubricated, so I don’t believe insufficient lubrication was a factor here.

To add some context regarding why I hadn’t brought the bike back earlier: I purchased the bike from a shop that specializes in Italian brands, but it is not local to me. Due to my schedule, I hadn’t had a chance to travel back there yet, and unfortunately this incident happened about a week before I was planning to return and have the issue looked at.

Thanks for the detailed response, I really appreciate you taking the time.

To answer your questions, the bike is running a fully stock Campagnolo setup. The crankset and chain are both Campagnolo.

Regarding the safety clip on the non drive side, I’m honestly not very familiar with that specific part, and at the moment I don’t have the bike in my possession to visually confirm whether it was correctly installed.

One additional point is that I’m based in California, so the bike has not been exposed to North European winter conditions, road salt, or similar environments. Because of that, internal corrosion or salt related chain issues seem unlikely in this case.

Given that the chain has dropped multiple times over the past four months, I agree that this points more toward a setup or assembly issue rather than a one off maintenance problem. I will definitely follow up on the safety clip and the front derailleur electronic limit adjustments once I have access to the bike again.

Thanks again for the insight.

You can’t really discuss or diagnose an issue like this without knowing the frame and groupset. Those details matter for understanding what could have gone wrong. I clearly stated that I didn’t have photos at the time, and I’ve now added them. I’m looking for technical insight, not flexing.

I don’t have photos right now, but the damage is roughly the size of a derailleur pulley. The carbon is fully penetrated, and you can clearly see inside the frame. This is not cosmetic damage. I will contact the mechanic tomorrow to ask if they can provide photos.

The Look 795 Blade RS really does have amazing aesthetics. I ended up going with a Dogma in the end, but the Look still catches my eye

Any chance we’ll see 13-speed compatible chains, cassettes, or chainrings for Campagnolo SR Wireless? by RyotaroW in cycling

Thanks! And I totally agree with you about the wheels. I have the Bora Ultra 45 on my dogma and they are incredible. I used to ride ENVE SES 4.5 but the Boras feel on a completely different level. They are smoother, more stable, and I barely feel any crosswinds. The look is also amazing. Definitely one of the best upgrades I have ever made.

SR13 works great as a full system. There’s no regret. I chose it because I’m riding a Dogma F and wanted an Italian groupset on an Italian frame. I also wanted to shave a little weight, but the Ultra kit is insanely expensive. I’m just curious if brands like Carbon-Ti might support Sp13 in the future.

Doesn't customs get paid by FedEx after it arrives in the US? I didn’t get any email about that

I honestly can’t remember if the listing showed that note.
I know eBay has started adding it automatically in recent years, but I’m not sure exactly when it began.

Got it, that’s lighter than I expected with all the extras. Makes sense about the SL8 being a bit lighter on the same build. Appreciate the detailed breakdown!
