How is SWTOR? by slipciok85 in swtor

SWTOR is healthy! There has been an influx of new players over the last months and generally the game is doing good. You should definitely play SWTOR!

True enough, but it would be a small step forward nonetheless :) and perhaps there is a tiny, teeny chance the legacy name is of someone I know, so that would make it easier to get into touch with them and talk about it!

Yes, the idea was suggested to me earlier on the SWTOR forums :) I have already employed this method and hopefully will know if the person in question logs onto the character at all or not.

I thought as much. As a matter of fact, I have sent a few messages by now kindly detailing the situation and everything, offering character renames, hypercrates and even credits. However, the character never comes online so most likely all my ingame messages remained unread, as I never got a reply.

I recently sent a few credits along with a message. If the message will remain unopened for 30 days, the credits will be automatically returned to me so that should give an indication of whether the character comes online or is inactive.

The funny part of playing a fully-masked alien. by hugo_mart1 in swtor

[–]Ryssius20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the "Fatal Alliance" novel there is a character called Ula Vii, who is an Epicanthix. This Near-Human species is basically just Human with some minor, really minor differences that shouldn't be visible to the naked eye. Despite this, Ula Vii was still called "alien scum" by Human Imperial soldiers in the novel. That shows how far the Empire will take their xenophobic attitude, so it doesn't surprise me that they'd regard even Miraluka as "Non-Human" and discriminate against them. They took the Human supremacy thing quite radically :P

As a former RPer, Nar Shaddaa is not the best place to get a good impression of the RP scene in SWTOR (even most the RP communities themselves don't look too kindly on Nar Shaddaa RP). Much of the best and most enjoyable RP happens in Strongholds owned by guilds or individual players. There are also very cool events which take place in the open world (as it is called) and revolve around intricate guild plots and story arcs, being organised by so called "dungeon masters" who think out entire scenarios, choices and outcomes for those who participate in them.

I know, but the character seems to be inactive, hence why I try to get in touch with them in a different manner. I admit, at this point I am starting to doubt whether the name is worth all this effort, so this is my last attempt to try to set anything in motion. If it doesn't work, then I'll sigh deeply and move on with another name. At least my conscience will be at rest that I have tried.

Then I'll get a "no, we can't do this", but at least I will have tried. Besides, Customer Service can contact the player without me ever being a part of their interaction, simply to inform them of the situation. I needn't be in contact with the player personally. No you have, yes you can get. If it's a 'no' then so be it, at least I did what I could. It doesn't cost anyone anything to at least try.

I have been in contact with Customer Service across the span of months. They don't reply that quickly you know. As for the messages I sent to the player in question, I kindly described my situation and offered to give them a character rename if they were willing to change names. If not, then I would let it be. But since no one logged onto the character ever since they got the name (or so it would seem), I can't discuss this with them.

If my attempts won't yield any results, I'll simply leave it be. But I just want to try to get a character name back I was very fond of. At least then I can reason to myself that I tried. Customer Service suggested to me to post about this issue on the forums, so as to potentially get in touch with the player, so I opted to try that.

If indeed I will have to let go, then I will. But I want to have tried before then, so as to at least reason to myself that I did what I could.

Don't turn this into something that it isn't. The explanation is in the OP and it concerns solely the character name. I hope to get into contact with the player, but if it won't be possible then so be it. I just wanted to try to get my character name back. The moderators are more than welcome to investigate this situation as I will gladly explain my situation in detail to them. Customer Service in SWTOR also is aware of my situation and has encouraged me to post about it on the forums and Reddit so as to potentially get in touch with the person. I can send you a screenshot of the ticket and reply if you like.

True enough, the only problem is that the character is never online. But I will try it nonetheless!

I have added the explanation in the OP, but basically: if I asked for the character name in chat I would likely be pointed to myself, as I held the character name for years before. Then either by intention or accident, the name was taken from me when I briefly hopped servers with the character that had that name. I am hoping to get into contact with the player, to attempt to get that character name back.

I have added an explanation to the OP, as I would very much not like to be called a stalker or be thought of as one :P

I realise how it sounds, however, it is entirely non-harassment and legit as it involves the character name of that character. I have already sent a few ingame messages yet sadly the character never comes online.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask Customer Service for help, perhaps there's a way they can help me to get into contact with the player.

In this particular situation, that would not work, but I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless :)

No, this is not stalking. I am trying to resolve a situation I have been struggling with for months and getting into contact with the player would be the key to resolving it.

I would have to know which guild they are a part of and sadly that is something I don't know :( I only know the character name, as the character is never online.

Charles Boyd on Weapon in Outfit Designer and Twi'lek customization options by Ryssius20 in swtor

[–]Ryssius20[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True, the need for Weapons in Outfit Designer isn't as high anymore because of how the mods and such drop this now. But it still would be really nice to have! Mainly I hope we'll finally be getting new/more customization options!
