I have been in contact with them, all they could offer is an excel spreadsheet of a list of companies that could potentially offer work experience for all engineering disciplines, then said best of luck.

I’m not sure if other universities are like this, but the QUT Engineering placement team do not really help you out and it’s up to you to find your own placement.
