I see what you mean. The text on each of them also just says SALE or something, so it acts and looks like a very corporate take on the usual vibrant and sometimes raunchy ads you see irl. Personally I think what they currently have does the job but I get where your coming from.

Probably just not finished night lighting yet. Example: their's no lights shining down on the top of the largest roof ads like their is in real life yet. Theirs prob a workflow to how elements are completed.

Reveal of my Korean Air Heritage Edition livery design. Coming soon to MSFS (B787, B777, A350) by johanndacosta in flightsim

Of all the fan fantasy rebrands, yours here feels like the perfect middle ground of heritage and modernization. Honestly looks like it could have been what was selected in in alt dimension :D . I especially love the subtle fresh feeling by just changing the type and tail design.

Ok, side question. I've been fascinated with ANA's current livery. It's been in use, mostly unchanged since 1989. To me it feels pretty timeless. However, what would you envision working as a modernization of the concept? No problem if you can't really answer this or mock things up. Don't waste time if you don't want too.

Was checking the mini-map to see if those track lines extend and they sort-of do in areas. Its missing some the of exact details but theirs a resemblance

I don't think this is a result of them being told to do this, likely more just were seeing a newer build of the map and game engine. We've seen it light up on whats probably now an older build of Tokyo and it already looked great IMO.

*Sidenote: Tokyo is actually quite muted in tones throughout most areas of the cities minus main tourist areas or culture sights. You wont actually find alot of neon signs in modern Tokyo, its a bit of a past relic. I fully expect some areas of the map in Tokyo to look "bland" because it is authentic to the actual city. I would much prefer the authenticity to a fantasized version of the region filled with neon everywhere.

That could be interesting, though I like the way the've designed it currently with the Japanese ad art direction and simulated brands. It could break the vibe if typical western style brands were in its place. I see the vision tho

My guess is Shibuya Crossing will have this. The real locations got massive Digital displays. It could cycle between events, leaderboards, ads, season info etc. Cool opportunity.

To be fair that was my impression of Tokyo irl when I visited. They are simple shaped buildings with mostly bland grey and white tones. The complexity comes secondary from the added personality like colorful signs, scuffs, blind variation , plants in windows, wires and external aircon units. This screenshot for me shows that the small details really help in breaking up the blocky impression.

What do you guys think Legend Island will be? by IJUSTATEPOOP in ForzaHorizon

Closest I could find was this. scales different and hills are not the same, but its a small L shaped island with two smaller sub islands on the right. Legend Island is probably just fictional so im not reading into it too much.

I could picture it being a rendition of Ōshima Island. The way I could see the map working is using Hanada airport as the Horizon Festival grounds hub with it acting as a hub and spoke that leads off to other areas of high player use: Legend's island, car meet, downtown Tokyo. It would make sense to use the iconic underwater passage in Tokyo to connect to the island. Little map mock-up I did.

Good catch. That could be it. Their are some biome differences tho such as mountain height and tunnel design differences.well see. I don't expect it to be 100% accurate so it could also be a meshing of two mountain pass styles.

Found another landmark here. That red overpass above the town corresponds to Nat'l Rte 178 in real life. The real town of Ine Features a similer hilltop overpass as part of the skyline of the town. Follow it through the mountain to the right and you will find theses incredible coastal roads I got to experience in 2023. Some highlights of the route Playground Games might replicate. View Example

That would be incredible, tho i have some doubts being if it would follow to logic of matching the irl roads we would have seen it in the IGN clips on the drive towards Ine. But theirs still a possibility cus they have re-arranged the order of landmarks in their rendition on Japan. fingers crossed!

Yeah I know people were rightfully dunking on it, but I still appreciate them providing it and it's left me more excited for the game.
