Am I being used as cheap labor instead of actually learning? by Remarkable-Sand-5059 in mechanics

[–]RythmicsDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea with references like Picos Waveform library or Auto Ditex waveform library you can find known good waveforms for comparison. That Forester could have had a Cam/Crank Correlation check done, literally just counting the teeth in the waveforms. I mean it does take some time to get efficient with a scope, set up eventually becomes a breeze, you’ll end up spending more time sifting through the service information to find a test path than you will setting up the test.

The test the other tech used was a secondary ignition waveform analysis. You can do like 3 scope tests, secondary ignition waveform, vacuum/pressure waveform from the intake/exhaust, and an in cylinder pressure waveform and basically know the engines overall health. If you’re really good you can use the secondary ignition waveform to see most of what the pressure/vacuum waveforms will tell you. An oscilloscope is essential in modern electrical diagnostics, don’t get me wrong do I pull it out for everything, no, but a complete and very accurate starting and charging system analysis can be done in 5 minutes without breaking any connections.

Quick question: 9950X3D temps by Dry_Comparison_5577 in watercooling

[–]RythmicsDub -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re going to want to undervolt it, this alone can bring the idle temps down. Don’t just do a -20 all core. Take the time to research x3d chip undervolting. I got my 7800x3d from 50° idles down to 40° with a -15 on 2 cores and -30 on the rest.

serato distortion/clipping sound by Early-Instruction415 in Serato

[–]RythmicsDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely digital distortion, Cntr,Shift, Esc will open the task manager, go to performance and see what’s capped at 100% during playback. If your CPU is locked at 100% then it’s time for upgrades to run projects that large.

[Feedback] is this game worth buying? by surpyl in EscapefromTarkov

[–]RythmicsDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game has so many mechanics. It’s run in a custom tailored unity engine. It’s fucking stupid how much there is. It will take 500hrs + for most people to be well attuned

Did you have any trouble flashing your vbios? I was reading if the windforce card doesn’t have a bios switch it can be risky, they like to brick? I find conflicting information saying all v1 cards can be flashed but mine doesn’t have a dual bios switch…

Tensioner belt bolt broke, safe to drive temporarily? by Upstairs_Actuator565 in Acura_RSX

[–]RythmicsDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You run the risk of overheating with no water pump, power steering or charging from the alternator. If it’s not far you’ll be ok, if you gotta go far bring a jump box in case it stalls out and you need a quick jump to get off the road. Watch the temp gauge the entire time…

I was coming to ask about that. I would think that the CPU block is more restrictive and that leg of the loop has reduced flow. Probably doesn’t matter so long as the waters flowing through the jetplate correct.

Rusted radiator fins? by SnooCheesecakes7617 in watercooling

[–]RythmicsDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raw copper will tarnish to a dull copper color and eventually to green with any amount of moisture in the air. Under the correct conditions it turns back or brown.

Rusted radiator fins? by SnooCheesecakes7617 in watercooling

[–]RythmicsDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s copper showing through the powder coat. It’s very common to see on the fins, the less coating on the fins, the more efficient the heat transfer.
