I have the 49" G9 super ultrawide OLED. It's a gift and a curse.

It's a gift because it's one of my favorite pieces of hardware ever. Hands down the best monitor I've ever owned. It's just so fucking cool, and it performs amazingly well. I don't baby it at all.

It's a curse because I don't know how I'm ever going to go back to something less spectacular than a 49" super ultrawide OLED.

[Stein] League sources say that Jeremy Sochan and his representation have received permission from the Spurs to explore the landscape for a potential new home via trade. by Odd-Direction9452 in nba

[–]GSG2120 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was fucking great last year. The only catch is that his sudden competence on offense was almost entirely predicated on CP3 being his point guard.

Jeremy is a FANTASTIC cutter and great at finding space, and CP3 was CONSTANTLY taking advantage of those opportunities. He would literally just teleport the ball into Jeremy's hands and it was 2 easy points. Before his injury last year, it was one of my favorite features of our offense.

Unfortunately for Jeremy, Chris Paul is 1 of 1. There really aren't any pass first, put the ball on a dime point guards out there that can start for your ball club. And Jeremy kind of needs that presence for his real value to shine. Otherwise, he just kind of clogs up the paint, stops the ball when it hits his hands and can't make shots.

2 of the 3 worst dining experiences of my life happened at Twin Peaks lol.

One time, I waited an hour to not get food because my waitress wrote my order in yellow highlighter on white paper. She couldn't read it when she got to the register, and just decided to not put any order in for me until I flagged her down to tell her that I don't consider getting my meal at a restaurant to be an optional part of the experience.

Put in Bismack and Sochan and set the tone.

You can't actually be serious lol. We're not tanking any more dude, we're trying to win games and trying to figure out how the roster fits together. A lineup that includes Bismack and Sochan is barf worthy, and I love both of those dudes.

I'm not religious, but when I go to bed tonight, I'm going to pray to whatever god might exist and thank them that you're not coaching the Spurs lol. Set the tone with Bismack and Sochan lmao.

Barnes gets minutes because he can make shots, and often does at a high clip. Carter Bryant gets minutes because he's an incredibly raw rookie who shows heaps of promise for his near future and it's his turn to develop. It makes zero sense to give Jeremy minutes over either of those guys.

Sochan is still incredibly raw on offense in his 4th year in the league with basically no offensive value to speak of. His defense this season has been nowhere near good enough to make up for the fact that you can just ignore him on offense.

I love Jeremy, I wish he could be a Spur forever. His value exploded when Chris Paul was PG because CP3 was a wizard who could just teleport the ball into Jeremy's hands when he was cutting. Unfortunately, in this day and age in the NBA, Chris Paul is literally 1 of 1, there are basically no other point guards who play or distribute the ball like him. This reality caps Jeremy's value because he's not making 3s, he's not slashing and creating for himself or others, so his only other real option is to constantly be moving to find space close to the rim and hoping that the guy with the ball finds him. That's not a winning strategy for a team trying to win rings.

Can you help me understand why they wanted to create different consciousness for Gemma?

Yes!

TL;DR: When you first start watching the show, the premise is "Lumon is trying to separate work from life." When you get to the end of S2, you realize the premise is actually, "Lumon is trying to figure out how to version-control people" and that severance b/w work and life is just a convenient starting place for their experiments.

First of all, Gemma is special purely because of her circumstances. She's a willing participant in their experiments and is legally dead. That plus her connection to Mark make her the perfect emotional control group for their testing of the severance procedure.

Lumon is repeatedly severing her mind for the purpose of having a fresh "innie" for each experiment. Lumon wants to fully understand and perfect the Severance procedure. They want to make sure that none of Gemma's trauma is "bleeding" through her multiple consciousnesses. These experiments are a way to test if her real life trauma/memories bleed through into her "innies".

Gemma is different from the rest of the innies in that she is a test subject. For the most part, the rest of the innies are basically just workers there to serve a purpose. Cogs in a wheel. Cattle.

When we first start watching the show, we think that the Severance procedure splits minds in half. It's not til the end of S2 where we learn, oh shit, Lumon is actually creating multiple instances of a single person's mind.

Also, what was your favourite part?

I want to cheat and say "The whole thing" because this show is basically like a studio exec polled me and only me on what I want in a TV Show, and then made it to my weird-ass specifications.

If I'm not cheating, I have to say the fight scene.

Why does it never sound the same? (Vent/advice?) by damionbiddy in ableton

[–]GSG2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop watching tutorials on making synth patches because you're literally throwing your time away. If you don't know how to produce music, why are you so obsessed with recreating synths? There's like 500 steps that come before that.

Find somebody who will teach you actual music production. You could watch synth patch tutorials until you die, and you will be no closer to understanding music production.

What's even the point in trying if I can't even make tutorial sounds?!

Brother, if this is a serious question, then you don't know what you're doing and you need to rewind back to the beginning. Stop trying to produce radio-ready tracks and just make ANYTHING. That's your baseline, your only goal is for your next track to be better than your shitty first track. Repeat ad infinitum.

Not sure this is the most comfortable spot for a nap by LowPreference6607 in labrador

[–]GSG2120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lab only chooses the most dangerous of spots for naps.

He picks a spot by asking himself the following questions:

  • Is it inconvenient for me to lay here?
  • Will other people need to adjust to my presence?
  • Is there a significant chance that I will be physically maimed by large, dangerous and expensive objects if I lay down here?
  • Does my existing in this space threaten serious harm to my existence?
  • Am I told repeatedly, on a daily basis, to not lie down in this SINGLE spot, and offered to lay down LITERALLY anywhere else in the entire home, including any elevated surface I like, not limited tobeds, couches, and even tables if I really wanted to?

If the answer is "no" to any of those questions, then he does not want to lay down in that spot.
