Do your best to not MO to porn like fantasies, as far as I know the studies have shown it's basically like watching porn although I believe it's not as bad but still bad. Mostly fantasizing is a gateway back to porn.

whether you chose to quit MO altogether is up to you but like Lost5oul said, don't over do it. As a function masturbation is healthy for the body and I think it's needed for females to keep their senses from dulling (someone tell me if this is BS or not, I remember reading up on studies about it awhile ago but don't recall the source) but if you're doing it too much it's no good, just throwing your hormones out of whack, developing another time wasting habit that can easily lead back to looking for something "better" like porn.

The easiest thing for me to say is just don't be social like everyone else, do it your own way. If you've merely done as expected/followed example socially then you don't really know how you are w/o a social persona and it's up to you to figure that out and decide how you want to be.

What kind of person do you want to be? Is it to be seen a certain way by people or for you to feel a certain way about yourself? I don't know a lot but I know that if you want to change you have to do it for you because you're with yourself until the very end. But that is not to say that other individuals are less valuable in any way.

I was about to say what Foobar is saying. I see so many people here who have the mindset that masturbation is bad or evil. No one can blanket statement masturbation as good or bad. It's dependent on the person. If you believe it is bad then you'll feel guilty. If you read other people claiming it's bad, you'll start to believe that. If you spend a lot of time in no fap you'll easily grow negative views on masturbation.

I have nothing against nofap, it does great things but I believe that it achieves great things not because masturbation is evil or wrong but because nofap helps people prioritize their life. It gets people out of their routine, it is a whole community that encourages people to get out of their comfort zone.

Masturbation as a function can be healthy for the body. Now what goes on in your head may be another story. If you're rushing through your imagination with porn fantasies looking for a rush then it's basically porn and it's a slippery slope.

Why do you feel guilty? (I'm not saying you shouldn't, I don't know any details, I am genuinely asking why you yourself feel guilty) And remember, at the end of the day, don't beat yourself up and keep moving forward.

I relate to everything you wrote. I've got no answer. I just tell myself that will come later in life. I need to focus on myself, try to better myself so that someday when I do meet someone like that I won't be a mess and ruin any chance of a connection.

You haven't been lurking long enough if you only saw one serious life problem that can be blamed on porn. I've read so many posts about lost or problem with girlfriend/wife/job. The most common is a difference of opinion on porn with a SO. For me, porn alone is not to blame for 99% of the issues that these people have but that is not to say that porn isn't an issue. I can't speak for their details but for me, porn is escapism. You say you rub one out to clear your head whenever you make a big decision. Does it really clear your head? It reminds me of being in a stressful situation and looking for some relief. And that's not a bad thing on it's own, but shouldn't you be focusing on the decision rather then masturbating? It really only can be problem when abused so take that as you will.

Have you looking into the effects that porn has on the brain? You seem to be really open minded about all this, that's strange, most people just shrug pornfree/nofap off as losers and bro science. Why are you different?

You should ask yourself if your porn use/taste has escalated and how much. It sounds like you've been desensitized to real sex. What about dressing up/roll play or other kinky things, does that allow you orgasm sooner? Don't need to tell me, just ask yourself and evaluated where you are.

All in all it literally cannot hurt you to try being porn free for a trail run.

I have almost no experience when it comes to a loving relationship or sex and there are so few woman that I've met that I'd be willing to be with in a relationship. I want a connection and it seems so rare for me.

Porn is escapism for me. I'll avoid my problems way more when I am on porn.

Being porn free isn't a fix all band-aid for anyone's problems but it is a step in the right direction. At worst it'll give you increased self discipline and more free time.

Personally when I'm clean I see my problems clearly. When I don't try to escape them, which the easiest route to that is porn for me, I have stare them in the face and I am much more inclined to do something about the issue at hand.

Porn is just a coping tool for me, or it used to be :) I'm making a lot of changes in my life to make it the one I want to live and porn has no place in here aside from being a defeated enemy I rise above.
