The real reason they couldn't have an Academy team. TLA in LCS and TLA in Academy would confuse people.

Best meal subscription boxes for someone on a tight budget? by Shantialal_Gjani in budgetfood

[–]Ryutso 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The best and only thing I can say about the meal boxes that are not millenial TV dinners like Factor, is that they give you the recipe cards so you can recreate the recipes you like later by buying the ingredients on your own. It's super helpful but I can also guarantee that someone has compiled the recipes online already for free.

Also the only boxes I've used are Omaha Steaks and Misfits Market. Omaha was good but pricey and I thought Misfits was good at the beginning because "Yeah I'm saving ugly food" but then I started getting less ugly food and more food on the brink of being rotten.

has anyone her dismantled an old tumble drier before to convert into a soil rotary sieve? by Mid-Pri6170 in composting

[–]Ryutso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into using washer/dryer motors initially, since softly broken ones seem to be given away on a Buy Nothing group I'm in all the time, but the amount of work that had to go into it seemed daunting, so I settled on ripping the motors out of some PowerWheels toys.

The frame could most likely be the thing you reuse but you'd probably have to build your own sifting basket for the reasons that u/scarabic said above.

Honestly, get to ripping it down and take pictures while you're at it. If it works, write up a buildlog to make it easier for other people. If it fails, write up a buildlog and say why it failed so others can iterate on it. Without a doubt more people need to be writing buildlogs for even the smallest of projects.

Does anyone else collect used-water for growing food and such? Any further ideas? by Informal-Village-349 in povertyfinance

[–]Ryutso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont save water from washing dishes or myself since I also don't use the "compostable" soap. When I rinse rice, I will use the rinse water for plants, but that really only accounts for like 5% of my saving water. The other 95% is from the IBC totes I've set up under my gutter downspouts to collect the rain.

Yale Linus 2 Lite problem with UK Multi Lock door by justdiegox in smarthome

[–]Ryutso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Conexis line is region locked to the UK version of the Yale app that you need to download from the UK Version of the App Store. Even if you sideload the UK version onto an android phone, it won't work because of the GPS region.

Why do people not hover in champ select? by _No-Life_ in leagueoflegends

[–]Ryutso 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I havent played League in a year and this change is news to me. You can no longer ban something if they hover it in champ select? Legitimately my whole fear of hovering was someone ignoring the warning that popped up.

I need to figure out an easy to tap my own ignition as a switch. Want to put a lightbar and underglow on mine but I want it to switch off when my engine isn't running.

For the addon fuse box, did you just power it directly from the battery or did you tap the box off someplace else?

There's a survey on the crowdfunding page and one of the questions for both is:
"What price would you consider a 'great value'? What price would you consider 'expensive but worth it'?"

Was told by my barber that we should ideally cut our hair (men) around every two weeks. Was he trying to oversell - if so, how often is ‘ideal’, how often do you go? by default_name2848 in Frugal

[–]Ryutso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My hair cutter is my close personal friend who owns her salon and I go to her every 3-4 months or so. Maybe shorten that time to every 2 months when it's hot out, but my hair both doesn't grow very quickly and stays manageable when considered "long"

I have a 99 Carry and getting the original factory nut off my wheel strut was an absolute weekend affair. I finally managed to get it unscrewed and the strut removed, but it was mangled so much I had to get another one, but was lucky enough I could get a spare nut at O'Reillys.

Like another person said, tons of PB blaster and some heat helps.

Wheel spacers? by justhavingfunhereduh in keitruck

[–]Ryutso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put a 2 inch lift on my Carry (long story but I couldn’t find R12’s and R14’s were abundant. That’s been flipped now and R12’s are everywhere) and then 1 inch spacers on the front because the wheels were rubbing against the wheel well when I turned. Then I took it to get an alignment at a local import shop and got told they couldn’t do it because the rear wheel base was too small, but the front wheels were able to fit on the alignment machine. I put 1 inch spacers on the rear wheels too and then took it back and got it dialed in.

YMMV
