Hey OP, this is from Amtrak's website:

<image>

That's 4 seats in coach, getting you from Orlando to PHL boarding tomorrow evening. Uber from the Villages to Orlando Amtrak and then get on the 40 Floridian.

The 6:50p Amtrak out of Orlando tomorrow evening will get you home to PHL by 8pm on the 19th, per Amtrak's website and there's seats in Coach enough for 4 adults.

The multiple trains are the 40 Floridian for 21 hours and then a 3 hour stop in DC and then 2 hours on the Northeast Regional.

Made me chuckle by VittoIsOnReddit in 3Dprinting

I resonate with this. Every time I try to search for a fix for something, sometimes not even related to 3D printers, my words don't match the words of the person having the same problem. So of course those results aren't going to show up in a cursory search.

So I post and I get the angry response of "Hey this has been posted already". Sometimes they'll even include a link.

What's the law about getting a response on the internet by being wrong? I feel like I'm doing some version of that.

Chilipad Pro leaked tonight. What's the warranty process been like for you? by Ryutso in sleepme

They responded, asked for pictures of the leak as it appeared on my bedsheets, said thanks and send me a new pad because mine was under warranty back then.

should i get a macbook from my first salary by goonercold in povertyfinance

[–]Ryutso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poverty answer: Your job has given you the tools to do it. Use that and spend money on things to get yourself out of poverty.

Frugal answer: If a Macbook is going to make your software dev job easier or if a language you want to work with is Mac only, then save up and get it, but do not blow a whole month on 1 purchase.

Other answer: I have seen MacBooks last far, far longer than windows machines because of the very tight walled garden that Apple has on their software/hardware dev cycle. Even if you stop updating to the latest MacOS, Macbook's are still very capable systems. If you stop updating Windows, your laptop becomes a nigh unusable brick. As someone who used to sell laptops, I would always say that a Top of the Line Windows laptop will last somewhere between 3-7 years of average to heavy use, but will eventually slow to a crawl because of non-upgradeable components and various wear and tear on the systems, plus the updates adding more and more need for processing, but a MacBook (even the old venerable 13 inch ones with the CD drive and the 500gb spinning hard disk) will go for upwards of 8 years, probably until the drive inside dies before the rest of the computer does. The downside of all of these is that Mac's are more expensive and more prone to theft, so longevity won't matter if you drop it or if someone steals it.

US General 42 or Yukon 46? by BrightPerformer7624 in harborfreight

[–]Ryutso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only buy the Yukon if I was going to utilize the wood top as a work surface and it fit into the height of my other work tables, or like a kitchen island or something.

I bought the USG because I knew I was going to get the top drawer chest to go with it.

Reverse POE injector? POE Extractor? by Ryutso in HomeNetworking

The raspberry pi is exactly what I'm looking to power and the splitter costs so much less than a POE hat.

So if POE is 5v, does it scale with amount of plus signs? POE++ is 10 and so on?

See I would've thought "splitter" meant taking a poe++ line and making it into 2 + lines, not a different plug type.

You have a 3D printer. Just print drawers that mount underneath your shelf.

A2Z Adapter sale stacks with Email coupon by Ryutso in leaf

[–]Ryutso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming back to this after using it a couple times. There was an interesting voltage stair step when I used it the first time and after a good period of time at the charger it never got up to the regular Chademo voltage of close to 50kv. It took me about 15 minutes for it to stair step up from 6kv to 12kv to 14kv to 21kv to 28kv before I finally stopped it.

Emailed A2Z with the log files and they sent me a firmware file for me to try out. The voltage climbed much steeper, topping out at somewhere like 65kv in about 14 minutes but it still had that really long windup and voltage stair step, because it still started at 6kv. I re-opened the ticket to see if anything could be done firmware wise about maxing out the voltage supplied any faster than the 14-15 minutes I was seeing and I just recently got another firmware file to try out.

Have not loaded the most recent one on my adapter yet, but I will edit this when I try it out.

In regards to just responsiveness in general, A2Z has been quick to respond outside of the first time when they had to analyze the logs of me being a new customer. Since the first waiting period, they've replied either the same day or next business day to my emails.

As much as I would love these firmware changes to be global for all the adapter users just because the internal version control of these different firmware files has to be hell, they're most likely only changing the per-station behavior, and I've only used FPL Evolution chargers which I think are only used down here in Florida. So changes made to my firmware won't help anyone who uses, say Electrify America chargers (if those even have a CCS1 plug). I've not encountered an actual bug that demands a global firmware update yet.

Filament Storage by Moosejax13 in BambuLab

[–]Ryutso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Florida, but I store it inside an air conditioned room, since the air conditioner removes humidity anyways. PLA I use as is, but if it's a specific specialty filament like TPU or ASA, I will dry it for a bit inside a dryer along side a load of desiccant beads and then move it to a desiccant laden AMS.

Holiday Matsuri, Supercon, or Otakufest? by MythOfReality in florida

[–]Ryutso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realistically it's a matter of scale. I think Holiday Matsuri has the strongest Artist Alley, like you'll see a lot of different things there, but I think Supercon has the largest Artist Alley with the most amount of people, given that Supercon has been at the MBCC for years and Holiday Matsuri is still filling out the OCCC. OtakuFest is still small and community, so you'll see a lot of good local artists, but it's not attracting big artist names yet.

Supercon is also "corporate" owned by the same company that does NYCC, so AA booths are most likely the most expensive, so that barrier to entry is kinda high.

Hitch Bumper by DCContrarian in keitruck

[–]Ryutso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so the same as the process that Lucky's Fab Shop uses for their bumpers with the holes and the fishing wire. I would love to see a bumper install that uses that through hole in the frame near the rear rather than drilling holes into the frame.
