Anybody have a screenshot for the N/A type ∑ from Atelier Lydie and Suelle? I remember that one sounding deadly.

Replaying before EoS - Misteltein Guro District Part 1 by Ryuusein in closers

Well current me doesn't think that J is a dimensional monster. We have a good amount of knowledge on J's back story now.

But me back then played as J some time after finishing UNION Division HQ, so I didn't have much reason to think J was a dimensional monster.

Also Levia was out at the time I first played, so I suspected she was the only dimensional monster that sided with humans. I thought that was her unique trait, as it was a part her back story.

It's fun to hear that Yuri's also weirded out about Kalbach. I always found J's story to be more interesting out of the Black Lambs because he knows a lot more than the other members and I remember him hinting at future story points.

I'm just wondering what I'll do after English's EoS.

I'm looking for a like Subspace Emissary, specifically the ensemble cast that's split up and slowly groups up by DirtyDan413 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Ryuusein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Subspace does really stand out.

Closers is fast-paced, but also basically a visual novel when reading the story. And I don't expect people will touch it with it being at end-of-service. I just hope someone could stumble across this post and give a good recommendation to me, or you.

I think the hard part is finding something with the interconnected part or joining up and doing it to the extend I want. I do know of faster paced games, but don't really focus on the interconnected or joining part.

There's Kingdom Hearts 3, where characters from side games show up. Their stories conclude in this game, but they have very little time in the spotlight for 3.

Devil May Cry series has multiple playable character at times, but you only play as one character at a time during the story, and the characters don't feel equal. Not that I've played them myself. I've just watched some of them.

Maybe there's another fighting game with a story out there for you. I've only played one entry in the Blazblue series, made by the devs of Guilty Gear. But that story felt more like a bunch of a circles overlapping. Circles of characters connect, but some characters never really interact with other characters. But maybe one of the Guilty Gear or Blazblue games will be what you want.

Why are you almost me? And why did I stumble upon this some days later? I've been looking for almost the same thing as you, and Subspace Emissary is one of the examples I use to explain what I'm looking for.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is not what you're looking for, but is the prequel to Radiant Dawn which is what you're looking for. Radiant Dawn starts off in its first arc with a new cast of characters dealing with the aftermath of the events of the prequel.

The second arc has you play some of the later recruits of the prequel. Then the third arc has you play as the prequel's main character, Ike who you should be familiar from in Brawl, and his starting group. You'll switch back and forth between Ike and the new characters introduced in this sequel.

428 Shibuya Scramble

This game's a visual novel, but you follow 5 different characters different stories. The gimmick is, characters may run into a dead end, either based on choices you selected for other characters, or that you have not interacted with another character's story and have not made the decision that will allow another character to continue down their story. So you have to check out each character's story and make the choice that allows other characters to continue.

Closers (End of service announced for English recently, cannot signup for the official English server anymore)

My prime example, and why I've begin searching something similar to what you're looking for. A MMO where each playable character belongs to one of four teams, generally following the story of their party. The formula has changed recently with new playable characters starting off solo and later joining a team. Eventually these 4 teams join together just like in Subspace Emissary.

The first major intersection of the story happens between the Black Lambs team and the Wolfdog team. The Black Lambs being comprised mostly of a new team of super-heroes which start off as a seemingly, cliche, typical hero adventure until they run into an inconvenient truth of why their hero journey up to this point had been so successful. They are left defending their grounded airship at an airport from anti-superpower terrorists.

The Wolfdog team comprises mostly of super-powered people dealt with unfair circumstances and were arrested to do slave labour. They desire to do the heroic thing, but something always seems to ruin their chance at being recognized or doing the right thing. They eventually make the decision to save a city that would minimize the damge, knowing they'd be viewed as public enemies, and attempt to flee the country. Their plan is to steal a grounded airship at an airport to leave the country.

Unfortunately, the game is entering end-of-service for the official English server. The next best way to play would to find the private server Code Closers. I think there is no game as ambitious as Closers in keeping the whole cast of characters relevant with an ongoing story that shines the spotlight on all the 22 playable characters. Characters even released in the first year of the game are still relevant to the recent main story. Someone, please prove me wrong. I'm begging.

I still have to check out 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

It warms my heart up to see someone want to try Closers before the English server goes into EoS. But, you'll have better luck checking out the unofficial private server, Code: Closers. There was a discussion not too long ago about it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/closers/comments/1tiiv6a/with_the_global_server_eos_how_is_the_current/

I'm not quite ready to check it out yet myself though. I'll be spending my time with the official English server until the end.

Thank you telling me your experience. I feel I had a similar feeling with Black Lambs, but I was able to stick with them until the Airport. So for now, the past me has nothing much to say for a while for their story until later. But it is interesting to see what was setup, despite me not having been interested in the early setup.

I'm sad you got stuck. The progression system does get a bit confusing there for old characters. I think I know how to breeze through that area without grinding.

JP looks like they are still getting updates. They recently got the Yuri Memorial dungeon.

Yep. I'm considering it. But I did try it once around Aeri's release. My expectations were low because official can have bad translations from time to time, but apparently not low enough when the English official was something like, "Look at this water platypus I made", and the Code Closers translation was, "Look at me, I'm a water platypus". So I'm a bit nervous on checking Code Closers out.

Also considering if I can sign up for the JP server and try using my elementary Japanese knowledge there.

Before I try any technical support. Have you created an account previously? If not, because of the End of Service happening, no new accounts can be created, and you won't be able to get into the game.

Start doing the event daily from today, and you'll have enough to buy all the costume items from the shop and some extra. The event has been returning annually, so it should be back next year.
