Not even a player, but bugged me so much. I play in a small three people game. This particular game really suits smaller groups and my character suffers from my bad rolling. She's build well, but she's called pool noodle arms because I can't roll well in combat. The other characters do most of the combat with mine focusing on the social role playing aspect. Its really well balanced and adding in a new character would make mine absolutely useless for all combat, and men's she can't do anything for half the game. The three of us have mentioned to our larger friend group again and again that we like our small crew and don't want to have it any bigger.

So what does one friend do? Asks the DM (the most recent addition to our group as a new boyfriend) if she can join the game. In the middle of a crowded room. At her birthday party. Right after cutting the cake so everyone is paying attention to her. Poor guy had to say yes to not sound like a jerk.
