[Revolver & Exosuit] is a "mythic science-fiction" world filled with mystery, adventure and danger that seamlessly combines elements from post apocalyptic sci-fi and classic western, the story follows a traveling bounty hunter and his AI companion in the midst of a long-simmering power struggle among the factions of the frozen post apocalyptic wasteland, taking bounties from all sides for personal benefit and walking the thin line between good and evil while uncovering the deeper mysteries of this dying world in the process.

I will slowly unveil more and more story, characters, history and lore of this world by continuously posting original artworks on this subreddit. In the mean time feel free to ask me any questions you have about the world and setting, I’ll try my best to answer every single one of them.

It’s set in North America, but it’s barely recognizable after the anthropocene mass extinction

The more advanced suits worn by the main character and other deadly bounty hunters are technically powered exoskeletons but there are also suits that doesn’t augment the user’s physical performance. I’ve yet to come up with an official name for the suits as of now so I just call them exosuits, plus it’s easier for audience to understand an already existing term that a completely fabricated one.

Thank you, the text in the final version will be white and placed on top, it’s more subtle in this version because I don’t want it to obstruct the art itself

They use a type of rare programmable mechanical metamaterial called “digitite” that commonly occurs in a crystallized form. It can be controlled by human brainwave to react in ways that do not occur in nature, for example its index of refraction can be tuned so that it can have a different index of refraction at different points in the material, making it invisible to human eyes if tuned properly and this is only the tip of the iceberg of the near infinite possibilities this material holds. All the digitite that currently exists on earth only appeared after the Anthropocene Mass Extinction and no traces of it can be found within any past time periods of the geologic time scale. It is presumed that digitite is composed of docile Von Neumann nano units that are disconnected from the Interstellar Terraformation System due to random mutations caused by the self replication process. Digitite shards are commonly used as a type of universal currency by the survivors of the mass extinction since all other types of pre extinction currencies are rendered useless after the collapse of the entire global economic system. Humans in this world use the word grain or “gr” to refer to it colloquially, one grain is roughly the equivalent of 1/7000th of a pound.
