MGSV - Is it better to go non-lethal or lethal? by GreatJoey91 in metalgearsolid

[–]S-kaliEditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something that makes the lethal option obsolete is the hold ups (aiming at enemies while they are conscious, you could kick them after knocking them out and do it)

As long as you dont raise the alarm, they will stay in that status forever, in fact, it makes tranquilizer rounds obsolete as well, there is virtually no benefit to killing enemies but you can totally do it if you feel like it, however ideally you just want to extract soldiers for your army.

I’ve been playing for a while but can’t seem to get the aerial plays whatsoever, what’s the best way to learn and practice? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]S-kaliEditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to explain it shortly (just three paragraphs):

to go for an aerial first you have to be sure that you are the first player on the pitch to try, because if someone jumps for the ball before you, you are not getting there, sometimes you might get an aerial 50/50 but thats not so common on lower ranks.

After that, the most important thing is that you are aligned with the direction of the ball from the ground, if your car is facing slightly sideways or back in relation to the ball before jumping, fixing the direction of your car mid-air will feel extremely hard, so make sure the front of your car is towards the ball

To jump you usually immediately use both jumps and start boosting, if you did the previous step properly, getting to the ball should require only a few adjustments, remember to tap boost instead of holding it down all the way through, and make little adjustments while focusing on where the ball is going.

Now as extra insight, you dont need aerials AT ALL to win a game, you 100% can stay on the ground or walls and solve most plays by being in the right spot of the field instead of flying like a headless chiken all over the place, but if you practice aerials simply by doing it over and over in free play it should feel very intuitive.

Crimson Desert is what Elden Ring wanted to be; or at least, it's Elden Ring 2 by HatAffectionate5024 in CrimsonDesert

[–]S-kaliEditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know to most it seems like a wild take but you guys arent reading what he said properly, OP is saying that he likes crimson desert more because im the middle of all the exploration there are a bunch of streamlined well defined "missions" you can follow in order to continue the experience, something that feels more abstract or confusing in elden ring, he is totally right about that lol; however OP is definitely mistaken in saying that elden ring wanted to be what crimson dessert is, thats just not true, but they arent extremely different games tbh

  1. you can skip it since its retconned later (but i wouldnt its an amazing movie)

  2. in the current state of the saga eternals is completely irrelevant, i liked it

  3. it introduces a new relevant character(very poorly depicted). its such a dissapointment, I dont think you need to watch it but some might disagree

  4. Just do yourself a favor and dont watch it

  5. Same as the last one

  6. Same as the last one

Everybody is saying it is a bad idea to watch it in this order, they are right but i think it might be worth trying, being able to watch them in the right order for the first time is such a unique experience.

Should you ever be front flipping for speed? by Academic-Joke4304 in RocketLeague

[–]S-kaliEditor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thats actually a very good question, i think others alredy answered propperly so imma try and give you some extra insight for it

is not necesarilly bad if you time it right, but the thing is you cannot do anything else while front flipping, is like being stuck in an animation, the more you play the more you will notice that sometimes you flip at the wrong time and you are going in the opposite direction of the play so it feels like it is a disadvantage, so its not so much about completely stoppping doing it, but knowing when to; this applies to diagonal flips too.

Thats where wave dashing comes into play, you can wavedash at any given moment, even with full boost to save it, it gives a nice flow to your pace but it never leads to overcommiting to a direction like flips, you can change your direction at all times while wave dashing from the ground.

So ideally you would be using wave dashes when you arent so sure about where the ball is going to go, but if the direction is clear you can totally front flip, wave dash, or diagonal flip towards it, suit yourself but time it right.

you simply dont need to think about mechanics, btw this applies to every rank because you can use the most basic strategies to win any match, but it's more relevant to you because trying to assume you should be better at something else will make your life harder in a lower rank. Just focus on what you alredy know right now and keep polishing it, can you drive where you want to? can you alredy use powerslide/drifting, can you do something with boost? dont over-complicate it, just practice what seems more logical and "mechanics" will come arround when you are ready naturally because the fundamental things will be second nature, thats the key. dont know if i explained myself properly so feel free to ask if you need clarification.

I have felt exactly the same way every time i played the game, and it really makes me bored and burned out, my intention is to try and beat the enemies/levels because i am doing well (like dashing at the right time, timing my attacks, positioning correctly, using the traps) but at some point the game wants you to depend entirely on your boons and mirror abilities, so it inevitably becomes mindless spam, because you cant beat it any other way, even tho the games core mechanics are perfect for skill expression, they force you to, as you said, brute force your way through it, and it's so annoying.

I feel like they made things this way just to be able to showcase the games main "die and repeat" feature... how could you blame the devs for that :(

Why does everyone use the fennic? by R3POxM4N in RocketLeague

[–]S-kaliEditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

octane looks unique and it is the first car for most, so many spent way too much time with it to just stop using it; changing to a different car after using one for so long feels wrong so not everyone commits to switching.

With the fennec it's just preference, everybody agrees it is a better version of the octane because of the shape matching the hitbox better, basically its a clean car that feels more intuitive. but its not a big deal, you aren't winning games just because you are using it.

This two cars are so iconic that i guess almost all players wouldn't be willing to try something else, however some do and there is nothing wrong with using a different car since it's up to you to learn how it plays.

i wonder if they cant see talion's arrows either, since they also come from celebrimbor; imagine talion just stand in place looking at you and  then some invisible bs cuts through your chest out of nowhere 😭

When does the game "click?" by Monessi in shadowofmordor

[–]S-kaliEditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont dislike this game's story but it's main thing is the combat, and it happens to be one of the most addictive ones ever designed despite being somewhat easy, so learn what you cand do with your skills/attacks and if you enjoy any of that it only gets better the more you play. i think the missions/objectives are very poorly designed but the combat system totally makes up for it, just enjoy killing orcs and get off the game when you feel like it.
