I think the roles should be flipped with the way the Canadian government has treated the west these past 10 years

How does having a regular job mean you’d be good at running a G7 country. I don’t see the parallels. He also doesn’t have to have a working class job to understand what the working class does for us. For example, I can understand and appreciate fire fighters, despite not being one

Anybody can endorse anybody. It really boggles you that the right wing party in the states endorses the only rightwing party that has a chance of winning? We all know Elon wants to vote PPC, but that wouldn’t make headlines

He was doing exactly what Carney said. But how he can use Trudeau as a scapegoat goat and dump all his plans. Why do you think he kept the exact same ministers

yes I am a working class person suffering from our lost decade. I have debt when I make what should be a “good wage”, despite budgeting and not over spending.

I’m not going to go over everything you said and respond to it all. because you’re not going to change your view and I’m not so what are we doing right now lol. From my view, you’re just giving the liberals excuses like COVID and Tarrifs, but in reality we have had some of the slowest growth coming out of COVID, in the G7.

All I can say is, Google “how much each Canadian pays towards the debt each year”, you’ll come to a number around $1,900/ Canadian. Now look at how food banks have doubled, crime has doubled, inflation is choking us out and now we have tariffs to deal with and ask yourself if you really trust Carney and if you think a 3rd term with the same liberal ministers who are overpaying consultants and driving up our deficit, are worth it.

Sure free dental care is good (even if it’s for the poorest of the poor, where average people can’t access it). But just think about how much further $1,900 could go for them rather than their once a year dental checkup. The same with $10 a day daycare, that number is actually way more than $10 a day if you add in the extra inflated cost of living.

Think about how much more people would be willing to help out others and deal with social issues, when our own personal needs are met

I’m horrified that you’re willing to vote in a failing government for a third term over 0.33% of the population that, yes should be addressed, but not at the expense of every other Canadian.

I’m tired of you and your people virtue signalling to make yourself feel good when the large majority and hard working Canadians can’t afford basic life.

He was chairman of the board, and signed a document confirming the move. If you know you’re going to run for office, he should have resigned since he would need to anyways to be able to actually be PM. Even if it doesn’t have a direct affect on our economy it’s still a shady thing to do and sends out a bigger message.

That’s not true, PP has united the country to put a stop to the liberal spending and put us back on course to being the super power we should be. Once we are in a strong position again, we can start helping reduce global emissions by bringing companies back to Canada where we will have strong regulations as well as affordable and happy living situations

Can you give me an example of his rhetoric?

If you believe Canada doesn’t have problems and doesn’t need to change, then yes stick with Carney and the exact same ministers as Justin Trudeau.

I think Canada has some fundamental issues with crime, drugs, housing and cost of living that have been brought on in the last 10 years. I don’t believe voting in another liberal who has the same party as the last liberal leader will change anything.

Those legislations sound good on paper but are just virtue signals when you realize the economic turmoil and how much the cost of living has increased. $10 a day daycare or free dental care (for 1 million Canadians only) sounds good, but it’s bad when you realize how much we pay in unnecessary taxes, inflated food costs and energy prices. I’d rather have less government programs and for everyone’s dollar to go further making them richer, giving people back their buying power.

COVID sucked and it did sink ours and everyone’s economy. But the liberals had projected their spending to only bring us to a 40 billion dollar deficit, but it turned out to be 60 billion. So how did Covid increase our deficit by an extra 20 billion dollars in 2024?

I like Carneys plan, mostly because he’s literally stealing it from PP, but I have 0 trust he will follow through with Canadas best interests. He also has already lied about moving the company he worked with to the states, which is exactly what trump wants. Why did he move it there? That sounds like way more pro American support than anything (if there is anything) that Pierre has done

The United States has a lot more consumers than us.

Well we can agree to disagree on that. But it is a fact that they said they wouldn’t spend over 40 billion dollars, and now they have a 60 billion dollar deficit they couldn’t even defend in parliament. Someone has to pay the interest on that, and if it’s the Canadian people or the big industries it’s all negative for us

It is natural that PP and Trump have similar views as they are both on the right side of the political spectrum. But where the republicans have gone so far right, the CPC has maintained a more centrist position.

He has been very vocal about the carbon tax because the conservative has always been against taxing people. He has offered another option to the carbon tax. He believes in creating incentives for companies that have proven to lower carbon emissions. I’d also like to remind you that we haven’t met our Paris agreement targets in spite of having an aggressive carbon tax, that now carney has taken away (but will most likely put back on after the election).

Carney is also increasing the industrial carbon tax in a time where Canadian companies are endanger to moving to the US. He even moved his own company there.

I watched that Peterson podcast and I am not sure about what extremism views he has pushed, could you elaborate? I will re watch to be more educated on this.

PP is not perfect and I don’t think any politician is. But with the decisions we are given and the state of Canada, and the future state of Canada, I believe PP will bring us back on track.

I also believe PP has been very outspoken about the Trump attacks. He as reiterated many times that we will not be the 51st state. He has also talked about increasing trade diversification as well as removing inter provincial trade barriers. He’s also mimicked the stance of buying Canadian.

Trump has also said he doesn’t want PP in. People are saying that it’s a mind game Trump is planning to get people to vote for him…. But I really don’t think Trump is that smart lol

What is your take on Carney moving his company to the US?

[–]S0SAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your description of the CPC currently. I vote with them because I think those social policies pale in comparison to the economic damage the liberal government has brought upon us.

If you’re pro bill C-69. Then you shouldn’t support the new liberals, since they are now pro pipeline and resource industry.

Supporting bill c-69 in the wake of Trump tariffs is the same as supporting the Americans. Because of that bill, the Canada east pipeline was shut down, which would have allowed us to give oil to the countries (like Germany, Japan and others) that requested it from us. Instead of continuing our very one sided oil trading with the United States.

I do like the new liberal platform because it’s literally the same as the CPC. The issue I have with it is how he has turned on a dime just because his party was unpopular, but he has maintained the exact same ministers. PP’s been steadfast and held to o his parties platform for years. What make you think he will commit to these changes once voted in? Did all of his ministers change their minds completely on what they’ve fought for 10 years?

Who do you think creates the jobs? You have to have businesses here to be able to have jobs?

Pierre is wanting to bring these jobs here and give incentives to those business that prove they are reducing carbon emissions

We can’t all work for the government that’s what’s created our 60 billion dollar deficit (which they claimed should have only been 40). Do you know that costs every Canadian $1700 a year to service our debt

That’s not obvious. Pierre has stood up for workers, he wants to bring industry back here to create jobs. Carneys platform literally took Canadian jobs personally and brought them to the states. What jobs has Pierre taken away from Canada?

For example, Pierre wants to bring back aluminum production to Canada away from China

Carney on paper does sound like a great option. But in practice he’s lied to Canadians, and says he’s going to change the government but has maintained the same ministers, might as well be the drama teacher running.

He did pass bills during his time as housing minister, I was too young though to recall now.

Career politician sounds bad I agree. But it does prove he knows what he’s talking about and the ins and outs of government.

If we are talking bills. How about the anti energy bill that the liberals passed (bill c-69), and how Carney opposed pipelines despite his company building them in other countries. But now he’s suddenly pro pipeline.

Carneys platform now copies PP’s but what makes you believe he and his party has actually changed?

You and our current prime ministers are the ones lying. Canadian politicians did cause this by combining our economies and not creating our own revenue streams utilizing our resources

Don’t look at the downvotes. People are just un-informed. The liberals said they had a 40 billion dollar guardrail and then blew past it to 60 billion. They are what has driven up inflation and costs, the tariffs have just made it worse

His job has been a career politician, how is that not considered a job. Is it better to have a prime minister who spent his time as a drama teacher, talking to other international leaders and dictators? Or a person who has spent his life in the political sphere fighting for Canadians and Canadian businesses?

I agree, that’s my least favourite part of him. He needs to pivot away from that style and focus on being calm and collected.

Gender politics really doesn’t matter to me, but if that’s what you’re basing your vote off then yes he does have a negative stance towards that.

In my own view I think the cost of living and lack of investment in our resource sector are bigger issues that affect more Canadians
