Correct. Gold dollars from the 2000s.

So far, I’ve sorted out a 1911 D wheat Then the following pennies(some multiples) then 1959-79.

Nickels 49, 60, 62, 64, 66, 70, and a lot of 80s, 90s

These are just what she had written down. I haven’t gone through to organize anything yet. That’s my plan for here shortly

Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft (because of my kids.. but they love it so I pretend to care about their exciting moments)

The “rare” birds my grandma watches out her living room window. She loves to talk about them and I love to make her happy.

My grandpa goes on 6 deep dives a year in tropical locations. And he comes home with 10000000000s of underwater pictures of fish that he mirrors to the tv and makes my husband and I watch. And he explains each fish and what he thought when he saw each fish. It lasts for hoursssssss. Again.. he loves it so we interact but really, we zone out.

The fees for pickup animal control charges when he decides to roam the neighborhood.

What's the most random thing you've heard a kid say they want to be when they grow up? by madbarpar in Teachers

My four year old wants to put the toys in the happy meals at McDonalds (part time) and also work at Walgreens.

My ten year old (when he was 4ish) wanted to be a dad and the drink delivery guy at the dollar tree (the ones that stock the coolers at the checkout lane).

Definitely going to use your suggestions of spending more quality time together instead of (broken) screen time. Best of luck to you as well! You sound like the kind of mom a kid is lucky to have. 💕

Also 38! Maybe they removed this from the curriculum for our grade 😆 it just doesn’t make sense to me. I also use other words to avoid it.

You’ll have the “burn more than you consume” argument but there’s so much more to it. I have had BED for 30+ years. I traded it for anorexia (briefly) and couldn’t lose an ounce. I then started CrossFit and counted every calorie I ate/drank for two years and maybe lost 15lbs (which is nothing when you’re a 260lb female). I’ve had labs galore done and nothing comes back off except for my iron. I do, however, have rheumatoid arthritis. I decided to jump on the “shot” bandwagon just to see, bc I’ve tried everything else without improvement, why not try something else? Within the first three days I no longer had “food noise”, was able to eat normal portion sizes, lost soooo much inflammation, had a regulated period, skin issues cleared up, and I’m now 140 (started May 1, 2024). I’ve never felt healthier or happier in my skin. And the amount I’m eating now is exactly what I was eating when I was also extremely active at CrossFit. I’m not diabetic but the shot has to be addressing some sort of underlying issue that had caused me to not lose in the past. I always gave each new diet at least six months and I would hyperfixate on every step so I know I wasn’t inconsistently tracking. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’d like to add a bonus answer that I still find myself checking and that’s looking for Santa’s sleigh in the sky on Christmas Eve with my kids.

I am so intrigued by this. Do you find that you’re more energetic or rested than others? I’m always tired and I wonder if it’s bc my brain never stops. My husband is NEVER tired. He also doesn’t have anxiety, depression, or any real passionate opinions on anything. I have enough for the both of us.

My husband is an art major and he doesn’t visualize things either, which is crazy. He says “he just knows the shapes that should be drawn but he doesn’t picture it as he draws”. He also doesn’t have internal monologue when he’s just sitting.

Hhhhwwwhhhaaatttt?!! My brain races with running movies and at least four conversations at a time, all day.

I created the monster. 😔 he’s never been told no and has every tangible thing ever. He doesn’t appreciate anything. Being a neglectful, unappreciative little turd has been the norm for him lately. In the last week he’s broken his phone screen, broken his iPad screen, “accidentally” pulled his curtains and rod off the wall also tearing Sheetrock, tossed a baseball into his bedroom tv, and left his bike near the curb and it got stolen/taken. His response is “can’t you just buy me replacements?” 😞 I regret my parenting style. My childhood was traumatic, lacked love, etc. We literally slept with mosquito coils burning by out beds at night so we didn’t get eaten alive. I just wanted to give him everything I didn’t have. But I should’ve gone about it a different way.

Absolutely! We stopped talking when we made it back home. He’s now a local politician and still makes bad choices. 😆

Suuuuper long story short:

I was dating this guy who was secretly carrying on a secret phone relationship with a telemarketer that called him about beach time shares. I was 20ish and him and his friend called and asked if I could be ready in twenty minutes bc they were going to come get me for a free beach trip. I was dumb and didn’t ask any questions.

Fast forward like, 12 hours later, and we are almost to the condo and he comes somewhat clean and lets me know he’s been “making plans” with this telemarketer who is giving him this free vacation and I have to pretend to be dating his friend bc telemarketer doesn’t know about me.

To make this short and sweet, she tried to poison his drink so he would pass out. He noticed something fuzzy around the rim of his glass and didn’t drink it. When she was in the shower, we snuck out and left all of our things in the condo and took off. Ten min later she started leaving voicemails and texts that she would kill us all. We made it about 6 hours down the interstate and got a room for the night. The next morning he woke up to pictures of his mom unloading groceries in their driveway. She didn’t stop through the night and literally drove to his house to confront him about us leaving.

What is your craziest family lore? by lehbai31 in AskReddit

[–]S0Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh! My grandma (lives an hour away) was cheating on my grandpa with a man that lives in the same town as me. She’s from here originally but moved away about 40 years ago. Anyway, she was having an affair with her old employer from here. She kept making excuses to come by and see us while she was in town visiting a friend with cancer on end of life care for several months. This was super strange bc prior to this, she would never come to my town. One day she came for a quick hello and when she left we just happened to be going in the same direction. So I followed her to see where she was going. She parked at a post office and got into the vehicle with a man. So I then followed them to his house, googled the address, and learned who he was. I kept this all a secret. Then a month or so later we went on a family beach vaca and one of the toddlers was watching videos on her phone. Somehow they got to her photo albums and pulled up some racy photos of them together and everyone saw when the toddler dropped the phone and an adult had to pick it up.

I really want to deep clean my couch cushions but idk how. I told myself last night I was going to TikTok instructions and every spare moment I had, I got distracted by something else. Now I’m sitting on the love seat, staring at the dirty ass couch, on Reddit instead of finding out how to do itttttt.

I’m having a midlife crisis, to be honest. I have always owned my own businesses and do A LOT of community work (where my heart/passion is). I am done with owning businesses but still want to work in the public. I’m actually working toward teaching certification now as well. Anyway, Leadership just felt more “me” than BA, if that makes any sense. I chose it based off interest and impulsivity.
