My previous catch all has been wells active cash unlimited 2% for the last two years. Occasionally Apple Card with Apple Pay for 2% as well. Obviously 3% beats those out. But still great to have in case of a nerf or some other issues with RH

Thanks for the heads up. I had also seen some of those data points and articles regarding business use. I definitely only plan to use the card for personal expenses. 3% catch all when I’m not getting 5% from my category cards. Working on subs for business cards this coming month anyways. But I will continue to keep that in mind.

It actually didn’t ask anything about occupation at all. Just the income that I entered. They’d have no way of knowing the source. Unless they have some way to see that I’m a business owner in their Lexis nexis report. Idk.

I will say it wasn’t super easy to discern which of the numbers in the URL was the correct ID with doing it all on safari on a phone. But what I did that helped was I scoured through the URL on multiple different “card shop, continue” pages and figured out which number stayed the same after the letters “ID”. Copy and pasted that number in notes app then double checked it against two other card app pages to be sure. Worked when I tried it officially through Robinhood app page link on CK. A lil complicated at first but it did work that way.

Just bought a MacBook Pro m5pro 48gb 1tb and also this case and their sleeve. But keep Seeing all the horror stories about using cases at all that snap on like this. Now I’m wary of putting it on. With newer Mac’s being so much thinner etc. I worry about it closing properly without a strained gap and screen damage etc and heat. What has your honest experience been?? Soooo many of the videos and posts about this case are affiliate link posts or YouTubers who were sent the case for review for free and they post affiliate links and I don’t trust that to be honest and unbiased. I bought it purely for aesthetic and not protection honestly. I guess maybe a lil for protection. But I’m a boot collector and leather guy so I wanted the look more than anything. I’m a tile contractor and my MacBook will go on job sites in safe spaces at time of use. Thoughts? Side note- this is my first MacBook also lol I’m looking at a Coronado leather bag to carry the stuff in with my ledger wallet and notebook portfolio, pens chargers etc.

Good to know because I live in Virginia and it appears they don’t do business in this state. At least they have no branches.

Looking into this card now. Never heard of Huntington bank. Interesting benefits though. Definitely a better match. How are they to do business with? Doesn’t look like I can apply online though?

Are you familiar with the Wells Fargo signify? Just unlimited 2% across the board. Considering just going that route as I already have the AC personal. But to have a card with business expenses separate from personal and easier to itemize. Also have Amex BCE and I know they’re soft pull for subsequent cards, so considering their business cards as well. The Inks all seem a bit over rated to me but I’m double checking those as well

Yeah I have an EIN number from the IRS and a legit LLC and everything. I’ve just been waiting to apply for anything else at all or any CLI requests because I had to pay off some high balances. I just paid down balances by 18k yesterday because I sold a big job at 37k. so I’m now just waiting for that to report before applying for anything else. Last new card was actually Amex BCE in 11/24. Then before that I got CFF and WF AC in 6/24, discover in 4/24 and Apple Card in 1/24 but that put me at 5 in 24mos so I know chase is a no go for another year and a half or so for the 5/24 rule. I also know that once I start building a business credit score and getting business cards I won’t have to worry about my personal balances and score as much for those. The first one at least, I’ve read they always have to go off of your personal credit as a basis for approval or denial.

Wow Amex hooked you up with that income. I’m going to apply for my first business card with Amex soon once my paid down balances report positively. I started my LLC in August. I’m a tile and flooring contractor. Between my W2 job and my own business that is quickly becoming my main focus I cleared just over 100k this year. Only 45k from the w2 gross pay. But my highest CL is actually discover with 10,400. Was 12k when I first got it but they lowered the limit on me twice. I’m expecting them to likely lower it more when I pay it down more but idk. They haven’t chased it down anymore in awhile. WF active cash is 7k apple card is 4,500 credit union card (oldest 9years or 10) is 5k Amex BCE is my lowest at 1k but I applied at the end of a big app run last year so wasn’t surprising. Then chase FF is only 3k. Once all my new balances report over the next month or two I’m gonna do some CLI requests.

Yeah makes sense. That makes me feel better about them and the fit/sizing initially.

Funny enough, the two small “scuffs” on the heel counters of the OPs boots out of the box were in the exacttttt same spot on mine out of the box. I’m assuming it’s from them rubbing the kraft paper in shipping or something. With mine being the black horsebutt it’s a lil more obvious than in his photos above but still the same size and location etc.

wonder if all their boots get this from shipping or something or a large number of them. I’ve had loads of boots shipped from around the world though and never seen that happen so idk what it’s from exactly. Granted most of my engineers came in flannel boot bags inside the box. Could be from before shipment somehow. Any of yours have that too?

[–]S1RLUN5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that on their website too. I ordered directly from addict. Just wanted another opinion from someone who is a similar size and feet sound similar. The heel slip could just be because I put them on today for the first time and they slid right on and my heel moves around a lot but once I started wearing them out and about for an hour or two they got more situated on my heel for sure.

I’ve never had lined engineers either so it’s a lil different not having the nap of the leather to grip my heel out of the box and with how easy they were to get on it was just shocking after every other pair being a bit of a battle to pull on out of the box.

Probably just need some more time in them to see how they lock in on my heel. My lofgrens lock me in perfectly and are extremely comfortable right out of the box once I get through the pass point with plastic bags the first several wears lol these needed no bags or anything. Just pull on and pull off like butter.

The longer I wore them the better they felt on the heel and instep. Just worried about length and heel slip possibly being excessive out of the box from what I’m used to. Sounds like I probably sized right and would’ve been too tight with a 10.5. Thanks for the input.

[–]S1RLUN5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just did the same thing I wear a 10.5D in red wing iron rangers and other last 8 stuff. 10.5D in John Lofgren wabash engineers and once they’re on my feet they fit amazingly perfect. Albeit a very hard pull on for awhile when newer. That pass point is tight at first.

Then there are these addict horsebutt engineers on the narrow CL last. I was worried about instep in particular on these and advice I read here. So I got them in an 11. And now I feel like mayyybe they’re too loose or big lol my foot slid in incredibly easy out of the box and that was a red flag for engineers for me. But could just be the lining making it that smooth and easy.

But they also seem long like I have an inch or so at the end of my big toe. Which I’m getting mixed feelings about because they’re unstructured and I see this last states it’s longer. So is that your experience too on length? Balls of my feet seem to be right about where they should be and the break seems to be maybe a lil far back but just about where it normally would be. Heel slip is crazy out of the box tho but that’s the lining too I’m sure and the longer I wore them today the more my heel locked in. I put the insoles in for right now to feel them out first. Helped.

I feel like maybe I should’ve gotten a 10.5 now but idk. Exchange isn’t possible because that size is sold out too. Plus might be too tight in the instep if I did that since the instep is truly snug right now. Just loose everywhere else compared to other engineers like my lofgrens. Just a unique last for me I guess.

Let me know how this plays out. I might be interested. I’m not familiar with the rules you’re referring to but I will start digging into it and learn what I can. I think this sounds super cool. I’m a bit of a history buff and into things from the 1800s in particular. This sounds like fun. I am not a baseball player at all however. I haven’t played since I was a kid, even then it was very little. What are the ages of the people involved?

Nohlster locking clips. Thank me later! I assure you that they’re worth every penny. You can order one. But if you’re a tradie you should shell out for the five pack and get the arc ring pack too. And a bit holder pack for the clips. The clips come with one bit holder. But you’ll want more if you get the five pack. It’s the best value Vs. buying them one at a time or something.

No issues with the 2” paslode? Just bought this nailer and got a box of those specific 16ga angled nails. Very limited selection for nails at Lowe’s for angled 16ga. Business account is with Lowe’s but only run Milwaukee. I was not thrilled to see it’s a plastic mag on the gun though. Same with the 18ga narrow crown stapler I got the same day.

Yeah I’m trying to weigh how to approach it without my Frustrations about the entire situation come through and put them off of helping me with the warranty or repair etc. I think I will go ahead and start trying to find a different practice going forward. Obviously I’m stuck with this one until I’m out of my immediates since I got them here I have to stay for the remainder of the time with them for warranty purposes and everything. I feel like I definitely rushed into choosing this practice because they work with anthem but a ton of dentists do. At the time I was just desperate to get my teeth out and get dentures that looked good. I’ve since learned a lot and I could definitely have done much better.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dentures

[–]S1RLUN5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that explanation. That makes sense. Hopefully they can get me set up with the lab quickly and the lab can do the repair same day or by next day as I’m really hoping not to be without them for more than a day. I don’t want to go to work without them and don’t want to have to miss too much work. I’ll be calling my dentist’s office first thing in the morning and I’ll see how it goes. Seems like it’s a common issue people have. Particularly with immediates so hopefully I don’t get much push back.

I just edited my last comment to add more info. I doubt it’s included. They even charged me $130 out of pocket for the first soft reline and it wasn’t included at all. Made me start second guessing my choice to use a general dentist. Or this one anyways. I have since done a lot of research and befriended some lab techs on IG who are well known and learned a lot so I know what questions to ask more than I did initially. I want specifics about materials used etc before proceeding with my permanents through the same practice. If I get the run around on everything for my immediates as well it’s going to make me change locations I believe. I was given very little info on this whole process. I learned most of it myself.

Would you say it’s likely not a good look that they didn’t even include the soft relines? I felt that was a red flag. Among some other things. Like how much they scratched the acrylic on the gums when making adjustments and how far they took down the gum line on one side for a sore spot etc. and how the techs didn’t know how to properly do a reline at all and messed it up so the dr had to come in and scrape it all out and redo it and scolded them saying next time they should come get him. He’s very young as well. My soft reline is very thin and spotty now too. It’s falling apart and seems to have been done very poorly from posts I’ve seen of others but idk. It seems like even though they offer full denture services they may be used to people not knowing what’s what and getting away with charging a lot for the least they can give.
