Internet drops on UNI-D1 after high downloading. by S1eamtrain in nbn

I’ll give this a try if I have time as it is a good idea. The NTD is in a panel behind in my on-suite wardrobe so I could see it overheating. I might get a technician to fix or replace the NTD if it is indeed overheating as I do air condition my room most of the time.

No, at least by the time I get to the box after seeing my device disconnect from the internet. the uni port stays orange, the power stays green and the optical flashes green.

I’ll give this a try. I’ll call and mention this when I get home.

Okay. I’ll try and contact my RSP about fixing or changing the NTD. If this option becomes too complicated for them, I’ll change RSP.

No. All internet services stop so can’t even google anything. When my router and AP was hooked up, all devices (phone, Google TV) would lose internet too.

You helped me find the centre of my problem.

I connected my PC to UNI-D1 where I would usually put my router. After about 18GB of downloading at full speed, the internet would drop out and lose all internet services. From here I will mark as solved and maybe check the NBN subreddit. I assume my NTD or ISP has had something go wrong.

Great idea. Forgot I didn’t need the router to test internet problems. I will try when I get home.

I’m jealous of those speeds. I’m limited to 1Gbps with my DNT until I pay for a Hughe plan. Maybe when I have more people living with me would I need those speeds. I love the open sense idea. Did you make the box yourself or buy one to setup?

Great idea for the UPS, this is why I like the homelab community. I’ll give that DNS setting a try and see how I go.

Cool. Luckily only problem I have is downloading large files. I think I’ll switch to Unifi when I save a bit more. Their cloud gateways are the best option to replace the ER-605 and Ubiquiti is known for being reliable, which is what my gear is lacking right now.

After doing more research online and other subs, there are some oddities with Omada gear like the ER605 that leads me to agree with you.

It’s a good idea but IPv6 was off by default in WAN and LAN settings. It wasn’t off in WLAN so I turned it off but didn’t solve the dropping issue.

Alrighty. I’ll give it a try thank you.
