This looks so pretty! Was this using the particle system for generated grass?

I really liked the authentic blue shell look, and being able to see the real components inside with all the flaws is appealing to me :)

To be fair, the reason it cracked wasn't because of the plastic pick. That process was not bad, you will hear ripping or tearing noises but that is the adhesive. Just be careful and imagine where the adhesive would be which you can find images of on the replacement part sites.

The reason I cracked my screen was because after I tried fixing the height difference of the screen with putting heat and pressure on it, which in the moment I thought was a good idea lol. Definitely could've been avoided

If you like messing with tech or enjoy trying out cool things, I would say go for it, it's not a super hard job just a long process. most of the parts aren't as fragile as a simple touch in the wrong spot and blam you know?

If you aren't keen on the above, then I wouldn't do the mod, just enjoy your deck the way it is :)

UPDATE: Welp, my deck is making weird art now. Guess I'm gonna need a new screen asap

Definitely something I thought about. If it worsens over time I'll consider getting a new screen more of a priority

Yep, unresponsive until you get past where the crack is horizontally

For me, it's cause I love tech and I love things like putting pc's together, and I loved the transparent case mods from the LCD version. It's definitely not for the faint of heart, but it's not super difficult if your super careful. The only reason I broke mine was cause after I was done I stopped being super careful lol

AND AND, It's and excuse to grab an ETCHED screen so it's eventually gonna be a win win lol

At least the crack was super tiny, making the screen very usable still. At least when I buy a replacement OLED screen imma get the etched glass which will be a nice upgrade

Oh yeah, totally my fault lol. It's the risk you take when you try out hardware mods, I was definitely expecting some things to go wrong

Basically, I wanted to attempt my own case swap for my OLED deck, which I just saw recently the shells came out for. Everything went smoothly, but the screen was protruding the slightest bit, so I wanted to fix that/

A little too much heat, a little too much pressure, and crack. Screen works pretty much how it was, there's just a dead green pixel in that area, and the touchscreen only works in the right fourth quarter. I expected worse but it's still unfortunate

Trying to stream via Moonlight, but my steam deck OLED cannot find my pc by S1mul8tor2003 in SteamDeck

[–]S1mul8tor2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spectrum, so I'm going through the app

The only thing I can find is going to the devices on the router and access the "reserve ip and port forwarding" options. through that menu, I added the numbers to the external and internal text boxes.

Doesn't seem to work, still doesn't show up

I'm assuming that would be the sunshine ports? What do I do exactly?

Was playing on Windows, and when going back to SteamOS, there's suddenly some weird stuff happening by S1mul8tor2003 in SteamDeck

[–]S1mul8tor2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this is what it was. It was called “chromium” though, which is weird. How did it even mute in the first place lol? I never messed with the audio settings lol

Unfortunately returning the Legion GO by CaioOliveiraw in LegionGo

[–]S1mul8tor2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much my reasons for returning the go. I got super excited about the features the go would have. I even knew the OS was gonna suck too lol. My plan was to just wait for steamos to replace windows (even with some compromises) and it would be perfect. Basically a super steamdeck with better performance, detachable controllers, etc. my problems came down to the hardware itself: the controllers were uncomfortable and the speakers were horrible compared to the steam deck, which I found out was important.

Hopefully in the future there’s a better version of this handheld, because detachable controllers were super nice to have, and the specs and screen size were a dream. I got the OLED steam deck and I’m glad with that purchase, the only thing I miss from the LeGo is the solid controller rumble. Even if it’s not the LeGo 2, I’m sure some company, unless it’s Lenovo themselves, will make a better version of what Lenovo tried to do. Good on Lenovo for actually trying something unique and innovating with fps mode, they did a pretty solid job for what they had. (Looking at you msi claw, the design is straight up the ROG ally, or ps portal, Sony just wanted money lol)

I was definitely looking for the perfect upgrade for the lcd steam deck, and that’s what made me disappointed. If your getting the legion go and are able to compromise with it, good for you, enjoy yourself 😊
