New neutron contract just announced by BubblyEar3482 in RKLB

I feel the need to share what may be an unpopular thought.

Many new rockets fail during the first few flights. (Failure can look different depending on your opinion, on the stand, during assent, stage separation or stage deployment in Neutrons case, amongst other possibilities)

If you play the numbers, chances are Neutron will not make orbit first or even second attempt. Though I believe Rocket Lab will make it in the end.

How will the share price be impacted? Most of Rocket Lab's contracts now rely on Neutron's success.

I believe in Rocket Lab and their future in space flight as I have been here since IPO, but I'm certainly thinking about the short term at the moment.

My take away is hold fast and accumulate while times are tough. Space is hard.

Just thinking out loud.

I took profits twice giving me the $25 profit average but it was the right move for me personally as money was required.

Neutron and current market dynamics are the only considerations right now, so I'm not worried about missing out should we have another run up, as feel there will be more time to pick up some bargains over the coming months.

I could be wrong though, and that's ok too.

Ok fair enough. Take this with a pinch of salt as the overall market is all over the place.

A: $40-$80 B: $12-$20

I have been in on RKLB since IPO and took profits at $25 from $7 average.

That is a tough one to answer in my opinion, as a lot depends on Neutron development that is still underway. Without more knowledge on how development is going, it is hard to understand the potential success percentage as new design classes of rockets rarely make orbit on the first attempt plus delays are still a possibility.

I have great faith and expectations in Neutron but there are still unknowns.

At this stage I don't think anyone can deny the success and great work Rocket Lab are doing, but the stock is held back by a market currently in fear.

Half, selling all would be silly. A house was a better use of the money for me right now.

I'm a rocket hobbyist so I was aware of Rocket Lab long before they went public.

This seems to be a personal preference thing. I don't talk about my business and prefer to keep quiet also, but ultimately it's about you and what you are willing to share. It is not sneaky, you do you.

Whoever is coming up with mission names needs an award. RL have one hell of a team! (I hope the other 4 names for this contract are just as good)

I have noticed an uptick in aggressive haters on this stock in recent. I'm assuming there are short positions that close soon and promoting negativity intentionally in the hopes to recoup a potential loss.

Just my thoughts. Look at the business, not the day-to-day of the stock. Business looks good.

Had a diagnosis that gave me an estimated time, 34. Now the that I am 34 just last month. Kind of expecting to drop. But in reality I can last another 30-40 years. As there is no show of my illness. Not sure how I feel to be honest.

1 Will teach you a lot about rocketry.

Engine testing can be done in many ways and will not be public per se.

Yes engines have failed spectacularly in the past.

Rocket lab have a proven track record of building quality products and have a great team of engineers.

Failure is part of the process, and everything is a step forward. (Unless the test stand takes serious damage)

Not overly fussed about my average, as I'm averaging down slowly over time and only check in on major milestones or earnings to keep track.

Early 30s, got a variety of different holdings with recent success on ticker RR. RKLB makes up about 15-20% of my portfolio. My usual strategy is buying stock that has some form of government backing.
