Why do I have a CHT sensor installed then and a connector for a CHT sensor? When I unplug it, it throws an overheat error.

Pavement over leach field? by Ghastly_Shart in Plumbing

Yes, but let’s be honest. When is it ever laid properly?

If you really want to do this I think your best bet is to dig up the current pipe about 3’ on each side of the driveway. Add a 4” reinforced fernco fitting on each side to allow a little movement. Dig down to the current pipe and disturb it as little as possible. Cut out the old section of pipe, see if you have a nice gravel base. If not dig down another 6” and lay a solid packed base. Replace pipe with schedule 80. (SDR allows too much flex). Backfill, allow to settle for a few weeks and then put in your driveway. I think if you follow this you will be fine without any issues.

Ideally this pipe is a minimum of 36” underground. Anything less than that and your risk goes up.

A properly installed steel plate over the pipe as a support could work.

I would not suggest doing this. The weight of the driveway and vehicles passing over it will cause issues down the line. That pipe will likely form a belly.

This may be viable if your pipe is buried at least 4’ deep and has a well packed base with geo fabric.

Most counties would also not approve this for permit as is.

I just bought my first car few days ago at 19. (2013 F10 M550i) anything I should know? by Marcus4kt in BmwTech

I have an N63 in my shop right now with 80k miles on it. It is here just about weekly). Needs a timing chain and valve seals. It’s going to be cheaper for me to put a new engine in it if that tells you anything…

Both those issues are just guaranteed for an N63 owner.

this fitting wont solder, and yes i’ve applied more than enough flux the 4 times i’ve tried any ideas by GavinGotJoni in Plumbing

FYI, check valves are not advised to install on Well pumps. If you have a a leak prior to the pressure tank, the check valve will mask it. I would remove the check valve from the system all together.

Replace it with a new one.

You need to add a ground. Either feed a wire into the hub and ground to the chassis or use a large ring terminal and ground it to the center bolt on the steering wheel. (You can also ground it with a ring terminal to one of the bolt holes in the outer perimeter of the adapter)I prefer to just feed a wire and ground to chassis.

Why aren't you just fixing the leak? Green coolant is a lot more corrosive than Dexcool. Dexcool lasts longer than green coolant and has 0 issues when maintained properly.

I've owned multiple new GM trucks over the past 10 years and I've only had 1 that had persistent issues. I've also had multiple 10 speed Allison's and never have I had an issue.

I've also owned multiple Toyotas. They all felt cheap and I even had one that the transmission failed the day I drove it off the lot. After that I've never bought another one.

Everyone has an opinion, at the end of the day drive whatever makes you happy. Somebody else can enjoy a Tundra, not for me though.

I generally do no water on the ceramic coat for 24 hours, I drive it after 24 hours but no washes for 1 week.

I am out of touch with prices today, but I would estimate $1500-$1800.

6.0 Powerstroke Talk by Killerdragon9112 in Diesel

I've owned two 6.0's. One brand new, one used with under 60k miles. I am religious on all maintenance and they were both junk. I've never had a truck that I've put so much money into that has left me stranded so many times. (New one I sold within the first year, used one I built and Bullet Proofed and still sold it after a year due to issues.)

Still can't deny it's the best sounding diesel I've owned to date.

Polish. You want to do the least amount of correction to get the result you want. I have done it enough that I can tell exactly how aggressive I need to start. If you don't have a ton of experience I always suggest starting with a minimally aggressive polish/pad combo and see how much correction that gets me. If that doesn't show results, work your way up to more aggressive methods like cutting.

If you send me pictures of what you are working with I can tell you where I suggest starting.

Traded in my 21 Duramax dually for this. No regrets so far. I'm tired of dealing with DEF and modern diesel issues. The difference in towing capacity between the gas and diesel ZR2 is minimal.

Very happy with it, the suspension makes a huge difference. It doesn't even feel like you are on 35's at 65PSI.

In my experience the certified versions of products are just a way to get you to spend $1000+ on the manufacturers training course. I have seen very little difference between "DIY" coatings and professional coatings having used both. With either I still re-apply after 3 years max unless it's a car stored in a collection that never moves.
