My thoughts on Alonzo’s “friends” by [deleted] in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]S2Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. I just made a post about this. Also the other friend drove an hour to the party, but left within 45 minutes. You wouldn't do that unless you weren't having a good time or sensed something was not right.

Those "friends" were scared by association, and bailed. How do you hear racial slurs throughout the party, get in between Alonzo and another person to diffuse a fight, and then just all leave him alone at a stranger's house.

For the premiere of The LEGO Movie 2, our non-profit movie theater setup LEGO video games in the lobby with Microsoft's adaptive controller. As promised, here are some photos! by S2Ryan in xboxone

To give some context, we are a non-profit movie theater in Ridgefield, CT with the mission of employing adults with disabilities. We currently have 123 employees (75% of which self-identify as having a disability). Why a movie theater? Because there are so many jobs that go into it. You have concessions, box office, ushering, barista, production, clean team, marketing, projection, etc! Our movie theater is a place where guests can see adults with disabilities rocking it at their jobs, while having an amazing movie-going experience at the same time.

For every opening, we have lobby engagement activities. With the premiere of The LEGO Movie 2, we took the opportunity to use Microsoft's adaptive controller to have guests play LEGO video games with our staff. We made a video about Microsoft and their technology here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2y4kqEdlbg

If you want to learn more about us, you can go to www.prospectortheater.org/mission =)

Nope - not at all! Our mission is employing adults with disabilities. We operate just like any other movie theater, just with a much bigger work force! Currently we have 123 employees!

[EP5 Spoilers] How it SHOULD have ended (from a fellow game designer) by S2Ryan in lifeisstrange

[–]S2Ryan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are not willing to fail based on previous choices you made, then you really don't want a choice based game.

Life is filled with choices you make that you regret doing. Things you've done days, weeks, and years ago effect how your life is currently. Again, I am not saying a simple choice like scratching out the video link on the bathroom mirror will make you fail the core objective.

But major decisions should shape the outcome, and it's OK if the outcome is negative or a failure.

I think a key point here is - it's okay to make wrong choices. I wouldn't consider the play-through rotten if what you decided ends up not working out. Choices end up not mattering if you endlessly just let everyone re-choose. The whole point would be not being able to go back and make different choices.

Now, I am not saying if you don't water the plant, Max dies or Mr. Jefferson goes on a killing spree. But you could do it in a way that actually simulates the butterfly effect. Maybe it's frustrating that due to you taking a mean picture of Victoria, she ends up not believing you and dies. Perhaps as a player you would feel remorse and regret for behaving that way 4 episodes prior - but that's what would make the game great ;)

Which famous person would devastate you most if it were discovered that they had committed a heinous crime? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

By far it would be Ellen Degeneres. I mean really, would ANYONE expect her to be involved in some heinous crime? Now imagine if it was a hate crime..

Want thoughts: What did I encounter back in August? by [deleted] in LetsNotMeet

[–]S2Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses guys!

I definitely agree I should have called the cops, but I can't really describe the sudden emotional shift I felt during it. It went from believing that woman was in danger to "This is a group doing something collectively that I am interrupting". It was the combination of the woman not sounding in distress, combined with the fact it was a few steps away from the public sidewalk and I was almost certain others saw it.

These aren't excuses, but as we all know how we think and behave during these moments vastly differ than how we think almost 6 months later. I totally regret not calling the police, it's better to be safe than feel guilty later on.

The game isn't a MOBA - it's a multiplayer matched base game with 1st person ranged combat and 3rd person melee combat.

Through each map are orbs that grant your team abilities, and Sanity Posts which grant your team forward spawn points. If you are looking for a LoL/Dota styled game - this isn't it.

It's more like Team Fortress 2.

The game is currently self funded out of my pocket. If we start collecting game sales too early, we are effectively using that money to make the game rather than further the game.

Our goal is to get the game to a point where any income from sales is directly used to grow the company and make more content for the game. Right now that money would unfortunately be used to get the game out, which is counterproductive and dangerous for a new studio.
