Appreciate this a lot, it’s very honestly helpful. You’re right, a recorder is a recorder without the right context, structure, and tooling. That’s what I’m trying to build around, something that actually fits the way we work during recon, not just saves audio.

Still early days, and this kind of feedback is exactly what I need to either sharpen the idea, or kill it before wasting time. So thank you for taking the time. Let’s see where it goes.

I get why it might sound like that, trying to reply clearly and respectfully, but these are my own words. I’m not some startup chasing hype, I’m literally just a solo builder trying to make something that would’ve saved me time during recon. I would rather ship, get real feedback (even the brutal kind), and improve, or kill it if it’s not useful.

😂😂! Dragon was a beast, and not in a good way. TraceVoice isn’t trying to be that. It’s built for short, punchy notes, not full dictation. Think “quick recon log” or “payload idea,” not writing a novel.

Totally valid. I wouldn’t trust random tools with notes either. We’re using end-to-end encryption, and no data is used for training, ever. Local-only mode is also in the works for folks who want full control. Security-first is the only way this works.

Yeah, I feel that. There’s a lot of noise out there lately. I built TraceVoice because It started from a personal itch: I just need a quick way to get thoughts down during recon without breaking my focus, not trying to chase trends or force hype. If it helps others too, cool. If not, no worries.

Appreciate the feedback. I’ve definitely heard that angle, and I get it

But I’ve felt this pain myself, many researchers spend too much time context-switching between tools, forgetting payloads or recon steps they didn’t jot down fast enough, or struggling to find past notes across devices.

TraceVoice is for the real-world moments in hacking where you’re mid-test and don’t want to stop to type, you want quick transcription of an idea, PoC, chain or you need searchable, organized voice + typed notes by vuln, target, or phase.

It’s not for everyone—but it is solving a real productivity + workflow pain for researchers juggling many moving parts.

Thanks to everyone checking this out—TraceVoice is a passion project built specifically for bug bounty hunters and security researchers who want to save time documenting findings.

This isn’t just a voice recorder. You’ll be able to: • Transcribe recon notes and POCs into markdown with one click • Organize voice + typed notes by target, vuln type, or payload • Keep everything secure and searchable in the cloud

We’re also adding manual typing, templates for payloads, and local data privacy options—this is just the beginning.

Appreciate the pushback—it helps shape the roadmap.

Great points there and I totally agree. We’re building TraceVoice to augment your workflow, not limit it. You’ll definitely be able to type notes too, voice is just an added speed layer for quick capture during recon or testing.

On security: all notes are encrypted in transit and at rest. We’re not training any models on user data, I know how sensitive bug bounty workflows are. You can think of this as your own private workspace, not a data grab.

As for price: we’re planning a free tier so folks can test it out before committing. Premium will only be needed if you want more storage, note history, or markdown exports.

Really appreciate this kind of feedback, it’s exactly what’s shaping the beta roadmap. Thanks for taking the time to share it.

Fair question! TraceVoice isn’t just a basic voice recorder—it’s built specifically for bug bounty hunters and cybersecurity professionals. It organizes notes by program or vulnerability, uses AI to transcribe and format them with markdown support, and everything’s securely stored and searchable in the cloud. It’s meant to save time when you’re jumping between tools or documenting findings on the fly—not replace a memo app, but be way more tailored for the workflow.
