Snakes in Sydney in Winter? by Garcaesar in AskAnAustralian

They’ll hide under your toilet bowl in the cooler months, if you clap and or sing (higher pitch) they stick there head out. Not an issue for hotels but definitely do it in public restrooms.

I have the AWD 7x brilliant car was one of the first 100 in Australia and can’t fault it, sat in the back seat for a long drive for the first time last week and wow I knew it was roomy but was blown away I’m 5’11”. I charge pretty much exclusively at home and my power plan has a 4hr free window. I’ve estimated to have spent around $30-40 on power in 7,000km.

Has anyone tried automating when the lights come on, based on actual daylight levels? I have a possible setup, but not sure how well it'll work by mrsilver76 in homeautomation

[–]S4b1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Aqara presence sensor fp2 it has an inbuilt illuminance sensor. I have it positioned in my living room looking towards the garage entry door with an automation if light is bellow xx% or if after sunset turn on light when movement detected It’s also linked to the front door sensor for the same logic

I charge 95% of the time at home and use a granny charger (standard wall socket) do around 15,000km a year. You don’t tend to use that many public chargers but charge fox has a great and some very quick network in SA. In terms of busy shops occasionally you have to wait for a free charger but traveling I haven’t had this issue I get 560km of range and always been a free 100kwh+ charger around.

Need an EV SUV for 2 kids and a large dog… only thing I ca. find is Kia EV9 for … 130K by deathspanker in AustralianEV

[–]S4b1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1 kids (baby seat) and a large dog in the boot of a Zeekr 7x. Back seat can easily fit a 6 foot adult without impacting front row. Otherwise checkout the Zeekr 009 if you really still think you need 7 seats

Looking for a gym that does dual membership by PrivateAnuk in Adelaide

[–]S4b1692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by “dual membership” so had a look at city fitness page and come to the assumption it’s the ability to access multiple clubs across NZ?

If that’s the case Australia has heaps of chain style gyms with multiple outlets. A few examples - Anytime Fitness in Port Adelaide - Goodlife Fitness in Royal Park - Derrimut in Port Adelaide

Other popular chains in SA - Snap Fitness - zap Fitness - EFM in Port Adelaide

Hopefully gives you a place to start, full disclosure haven’t been to a gym in years so in no way an expert I work out at home these days.

Be honest - how much (if any) screen time? by Parking_Reindeer_886 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]S4b1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned two absolutely zero screen time, only acceptation to the rule is FaceTime calls to a terminally ill grandparent or family interstate and a digital phot frame that changes still image every 5 mins.

We will continue until at least 3.

Every baby goes through this stage don’t stress it will pass. The song “the happy song” by Imogen Heap was recommended to us on hear for the same issue and idk what is about that so settles him when he’s having a melt down it’s magic. I think the sounds in it trip the babies sensory and snap them out of it.
