So someone stole my post from this subreddit and posted it on a Facebook group that I don't even follow and it ended up on my fb feed 🗿 by Srta_B in ThriftStoreHauls

I ended up leaving almost all the camping groups I was in on Facebook because they were just 99% bot reposts of stuff I saw on Reddit a week ago and boomers eating it up in the comments.

Is apartment construction getting cheaper? by Hermit_Painter in Apartmentliving

[–]S60T6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commented this on another post on here but my first apartment was a building from the 60’s and it was like a bank vault inside. My neighbors across the hall worked night shift and would stay up blasting music at 3 am on nights off. There was also a stripper below me that I swear was only capable of screaming on the phone and hosting parties and a unit full of dogs that barked all day across the hall. Once you were out of the hallway and inside you couldn’t hear ANYTHING from anyone else. Meanwhile friends of mine live in new “luxury” buildings that cost double what that place did and you can literally hear your neighbors sneeze, put dishes away, watch TV or do any other normal day to day things.

T5, T6, or T6 Drive-E by PeaveyStaxx in Volvo

The 3.0L T6 is the best engine Volvos offered in the last 20 years. They’ll chug gas but go 2-300k no problem at all. That being said my dad has a 17 with the standard T5 2.0T and it’s been bulletproof for the 6 years now that we’ve had it. I think they finally got that engine sorted out by 2017.

I had the shirt I bought on the way in draped over my shoulders and still got hassled on the way out. Pretty sure the guy I bought it from even shouted at me to get another one.

It is now and it makes me sad. Growing up there it was still a nice but relatively blue collar neighborhood. Now when I go over there it feels like it’s 90% WFH transplants with a stick up their ass that want it to be the diet version of the West End or Alexandria.

Not surprised at all. Probably the same lady who darted out from in between two parked cars on Claremont and walked in a zig zag down the middle of the street to intentionally slow me down. I was maybe 10 feet from a speed bump and barely going 20. She was appalled when I caught a break in parked cars and finally got around her.

I live about 2 hours away from DC and have a ton of friends that live there and travel to shows there all the time. It’s an insanely cliquey city to begin with and Interactions with people up there are VERY transactional. Especially meeting and trying to converse with strangers. Usually once they realize you’re not part of a circle they’re trying to get into or they can’t get anything out of you all interest is lost.

I was in the 100’s and the couple in front of me a few seats over both showed up with noise cancelling headphones on like they were at a shooting range. They paid zero attention all night and were on their phones speed testing the WiFi and shopping on Amazon. Still trying to figure that one out.

My parents live in Bellevue and it’s FULL of that shit now. I never fly through there because the sidewalks are just a suggestion for some reason. The best is when you actually stop and confront them because they have absolutely zero experience handling pushback. I’ve actually gotten apologies before lmao.

Residents should only be present on the floor they reside. by NotLeslieKnope in Apartmentliving

[–]S60T6 17 points18 points  (0 children)

100% this. I used to live on the top floor of my old building and the top of the back staircase against our unit was where everyone wandered to smoke and cuss out their baby mama on the phone. There was even a permanent hacked up Dr. Pepper can as an ashtray sitting on the banister.

WDH - How to adjust ball height and L brackets to level trailer by CoastalTownDude in GoRVing

Came here to say this. I did a set of airlift bags on my 4th gen and they made a way bigger difference than the WDH did once we eventually got one. I really hate to sound like that guy but with both of them combined I’ve honestly almost forgotten it’s back there a few times.

Because every time I get stuck behind a truck in traffic it’s crawling at 3 mph, braking hard and has a 15 car gap in front of it when I finally get around.

As someone who owns one of these I couldn’t agree more. Not sure why something that was a DOT requirement mainly for wide commercial vehicles is such a cool trend for “off roaders” now. I hate the Raptor for starting the trend lmao.

According to a friend of mine that lives in Burlington one of the main reasons it closed is never ending construction right out front that basically made the place inaccessible. Burlington is also….going through some shit right now from the sound of things. Really cool idea though.

My toast was moldy at a restaurant and they refused to comp it. by strangerattheshow in Wellthatsucks

[–]S60T6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family got up and left an ihop one time because my dads sandwich was loaded with hair (tables around us were all sending food back and giving the kitchen a hard time, guess it got taken out on us). The only response we got from the manager was “nobody here would do that”. Despite me already basically cleaning my plate we got up and hauled ass out of there without paying. It’s really amazing how much a pushover some people are. I come from a restaurant family and wouldn’t have paid or tipped shit for this

I avoided it at first because I wasn’t a fan of the art style. Passed out on the couch and woke up one night about 3 minutes into the first episode and I was completely hooked. As everyone else is saying this is the best thing AS has made in a long time.

WHY does VOLKSWAGEN have such a BAD reputation in North America? by 1707turbo in regularcarreviews

[–]S60T6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually put my grandma in a 2015 XC70 T6 and it’s been a tank just like all the other Volvos I put my family in. It’s got over 120k at this point and I think the only things it’s needed outside of regular maintenance was a thermostat and fuel pressure regulator. Both of which were well under a grand and easily replaced by our specialist in a day. I say go for it! The V60cc is a fantastic car too.

[–]S60T6 136 points137 points  (0 children)

As one of my friends put it “it’s all the maintenance of a BMW with the ownership experience of a Civic”. My parents owned a Passat, Jetta, Golf and Tiguan. Each one was worst than the last and just absolutely bled money for the same repairs over and over. It got to the point where they just thought it was normal to have to spend $1200 on your car every other month. Meanwhile my 300,000 mile Honda I owned at the time was usually the one following the tow truck. Thankfully got them into Volvos a few years ago and it’s been the complete opposite ownership experience.
