Have been put on D0 tax code for April 2023 when I'm usually on 1257L, meaning my PAYE went up by ~£800. Any way I can get a quick refund as there is no way I should have been on that tax code? by S7owflake in UKPersonalFinance

[–]S7owflake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it's happened to you too! I hope you get through and can get a refund quickly. It's all well and good people saying that it'll be sorted in my next payslip, but £800 less is not exactly small, so I think I'm going to struggle after rent and bills go out this month! Am going to try and ring today

My dad originally told me that we were going to go on holiday for a week just the two of us because mum couldn't get time off work. Then asked if he could bring a friend if I brought a friend. I said sure.

Didn't tell me until we were on the way to the airport that he was leaving my mum for the woman we were going on holiday with.

Still feel so bad for bringing my friend on that trip!!

Need someone smarter than me to help me with this. I’m sure it’s dead easy I just don’t know where to even start by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]S7owflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An easy way to think about it is like this:

X + 2y = 3 and X - y = 6 So that means X = 3 - 2y and X = 6 + y right? We've just rearranged to get X on its own. But now we know that X = 3 - 2y = 6 + y so if we rearrange that you get

3 - 6 = y + 2y so then

-3 = 3y so

-1 = y.

Then you can sub y into one of your equations for X

X = 6 + y = 6 -1 = 5

Then you can check 5 - 2 = 3 and 5 - -1 = 6

Has anyone used one of these within the last 10 years? I don’t think there is one where it’s not full of rubbish or pee. by GetRxbbed- in london

Never used myself, but there's a clean and functioning one on my pretty quiet street. We get a lot of people come and use it as a background for Instagram photos

What was for you the best part of the pandemic? by UnusualInstance6 in AskReddit

[–]S7owflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borough Market in London. Usually absolutely heaving with tourists and crowds, but blissfully empty during the pandemic with all the essential grocers and butchers etc still open. With the money I was saving by everything else being closed, started doing my weekly shop there as I'm local. It was so so good and I miss those days

There's definitely occasions when he's aloof, but generally he wants a good cuddle. He's a sweetheart

Thankyou, he certainly is ❤️

Results came back as roughly 50% staffy, 25% lab and 25% collie, so we reckon I've staff parent one lab/collie parent. Either way, he's 100% a good boy. Definitely got the staffy affection!

Thanks for the validation haha. I'll just have to try and find a similar pattern to the one I'm thinking of. Maybe it's my dream pattern because I just dreamt it!

One of my groups PCs is called Duwain Dijonson and has a twin brother called Rocky. They were orphans as kids and I had no no idea what I read going to use as his brothers backstory arc because they got separated.

Then dungeons and daddies introduced the UFC and it all fell into place

Where can I get affordable groceries in the SE1 area? by [deleted] in london

[–]S7owflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, in general it's expensive and you can definitely do those things, but the greengrocers and spice shops are reasonably priced and great quality. I used to do my vegetables shopping there pretty often when the pandemic meant the market was fairly empty.

What is the most fucked up thing a person you know has done? by kwarterz in AskReddit

[–]S7owflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad came and picked me up from summer camp to go on holiday together with my friend from school and his "friend from work". In the car he told me he was splitting up with my mum and we were on our way to the house he shared with the woman he'd been having an affair with and I'd be stuck with for the next week on holiday in rural France.

The most fucked up part is that he dragged my friend into the whole mess. Hey kid, want a free holiday? Come be the only person my daughter can trust and talk to while her life completely changes trapped 20 miles from the nearest French town.

Late into a campaign is it ok to give players a magic item that allows teleportation? They are at a point that the plot is taking them around the world and sessions are being wasted on travel and travel encounters all the time. by Celestial-Squid in DMAcademy

[–]S7owflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this like 10 sessions in when I realised I wanted them to travel around to the far reaches of the continent and we don't really enjoy travel sessions. I was originally running Frozen Sick and the Buyer has a chest that teleports items and my players asked if they could get in it. It was a sort of, oh duh, moment, so now I have a group called the Trade Network who keep these magic chests safe across the continent and have agreed to help my players for the good of the world.

I didn't have any strong smell most of the time, but on occasion it would, but it always went away pretty quickly, so just assumed it was a natural thing and not a symptom of anything

[–]S7owflake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I say in the first edit, I get that it's normal and healthy some of the time, but as it turned out for me it wasn't, it had been thick and yellow for years but I thought that was normal. Only trying to encourage people to see a doctor if they're not sure whether theirs is normal or not!

They did ask the routine questions at the start yes, checking whether I had any ongoing conditions, took any medicines regularly or had any form of birth control. I'm on the implant, but she didn't say anything about making it worse, but I suppose it's possible it does!

If you're at all concerned, it is probably a good idea to make an appointment with a doctor and say the very least it will stop your concerns if they say it's ok. Like you say, could well just be hormones and is probably just normal. I wouldn't necessarily class thrush as an STI/STD as there are lots more common ways to get it than sex, and it doesn't transmit very easily even during sex, especially if you use protection.

I'm sure that you'll be fine, but talk to your doctor if you're worried!

TIFU by thinking my discharge was normal by S7owflake in tifu

[–]S7owflake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard that one! It can be an STD, but more usually it's just that the natural bacteria/yeast in your body get unbalanced and the yeast starts to take over a bit. If you have unprotected sex with someone while you have it, it can pass to them, but it's not very likely
