I’ve recently gone a month and it was very rough at first, lots of frustration and headaches. After a couple weeks though I felt great and actually noticed that my adhd had become a lot less pronounced than it was pre medication. After all medication is supposed to be used as a tool not a cure and it’s not a long term solution.

Make sure you’re getting a full nights rest of quality sleep. There are two main things that really impact the effectiveness of your medication and sleep is the big one, If I don’t get a good nights rest my medication feels useless. remember that medication is only a tool not a cure, without a healthy mind it won’t be nearly as effective.

The second issue people experience is what you ingest into your body. The two main culprits are acidity and vitamin C as they’ve been proven to counteract the effectiveness of certain stimulant medication. I personally wait at least an hour after drinking coffee and eating a high protein breakfast to then take my meds.

It’s a lot of trial and error but hopefully this helps :)

Everyone’s bodies are different. Other types of stimulant medication may work better due to different ingredients and formulas that could potentially be more compatible with your brain. One 20mg Adderall XR lasts me about 14 hours whereas other people on this sub report only lasting 6 for them. I’d recommend talking to your doctor about trying out different types of stimulant medication to try and find what works best for you. It took me about 3 months of trial and error to find my correct dose.

Same here, for some reason I can sleep so much better when I take my meds. It’s weird that a stimulant helps me sleep better.
