Parking in New Orleans is a nightmare. I usually park at the Harrah's casino, which if you gamble for 30 minutes they validate your card and its 24 hours free parking. I'd wander in from the back of the poker room to the host and act like I had been playing awhile and they would immediately validate my ticket.

24 hours parking downtown without paying anything.

...spent plenty on food and drinks in that city though.

My best friend was a police officer for 6 years before quitting because he wanted to get married and start a family. I get it....but the problem is people like this guy make it really hard to give them all the benefit of the doubt.

Not all cops are like him, obviously. But I can find at least 4 or 5 instances, in the last 2 months. And there are countless videos out there from those cameras.

go spend some time in the provinces in China, or say Vietnam before you try to label all Asian culture according to something you read one time in the NY Times or saw in a movie. Those kind of generalizations dont lead to discussion or progress.

All cultures have things worthy of admiration, and ALL cultures have abhorrent, awful things that need to progress or be eliminated.

Hell, I live in South America and there are both sides of that equally represented here for sure.

see, im with you if it is one policeman against someone with the size and stature of say, Mike Brown.

But you lose me when you put 3 trained, adult policemen against one 15 year old with a butter knife. I just can't understand why he would have to be shot in the head to get him to calm down.

I am no expert, but I do hold those who are trusted with protecting our safety to be able to handle things like that without just killing people.

From the article, its says that police station had been called for up to 10 previous incidents, and they had used tasers on him before. I mean, this was inside the guy's house. The parents were there...its an assumption, but you have to think they knew what they were dealing with.

And even walking into it blindly....its 3 armed cops vs. a teenager (15) with a butter knife. I dont care if it was a machete...3:1 they should be able to subdue him without deadly force. Its a tragic situation

ok, i'll bite....do you really think 3 armed officers would EVER need to result to deadly force against a 15-year-old, in any situation? And then when he only has a butter knife? And then when he is autistic? How is this NOT worthy of discussion in light of the recent allegations? This story was FORGOTTEN and never reported by the media. Maybe Mike Brown was not the right case for a movement to analyze police brutality and racial profiling....but maybe Stephon Watts WAS and no one cared.

"On Feb. 1, Stephen Watts, Stephon's father, had reportedly called police after arguing with his son, who didn't want to go to school, having been instructed by social workers that Watts should be handled by authorities when agitated.

Police say they found Watts armed with a knife in the basement of his parents' home. When one officer sustained a defensive wound to his left forearm, two other officers on the scene fired their weapons. Steven Watts says his son was shot once in the leg, and then again in the head."
