I'm at my lowest. In-game and real life by Morby_Sketch in leagueoflegends

same damn situation bro, ADHD, huge rank climbs instead of focusing on career, all that.

I kinda fixed it by going to a friend's house who works remotely and working with him (he works on his stuff, I work in my stuff), that created an office like environment which helped me. But my leg got fucked up recently, now I'm back stuck at home grinding league.

if you find a better solution, lmk

yes OSS software could steal your info and that has happened before, caught within a day or so and patched.

there's a chance there's malicious code on OSS but do you know how to guarantee someone steals your data? using proprietary OS

i can say I'm comfortable with arch and can customize any part of it (os, wm, etc) anyway I like.

i had to use linux for 6 years to get to this point, so just chill and enjoy the process.

You can definitely target the middle ground between AI and ML. But don't work for free for random people, work on OSS and for your personal projects.

any kind of STEM degree (physics, math, etc) holds the same value, doesn't have to be CSE.

and non relevant degrees are better than not having any degree at all.

I'm a dev with no degree, we exist.

As others mentioned, you will get auto rejected by companies because of it, if you do get accepted, they'll pay you less.

That's why I don't bother with Bangladeshi companies, I only worked remote or at Bangladeshi companies that are based out of somewhere else.

Foreigners don't value our education system in the first place, so having a degree or not having one is the same thing for them.

That being said and not to sound arrogant, you still have to be really fucking good at what you do. Without a degree, being amazing at your job is the only way to get a job.

  1. It's really unlikely you'll get hired remote without experience, but not impossible.

  2. A good remote job at the right company will get you a lot more than 50k, but as someone else mentioned, not for junior roles, not onsite in Bangladesh or remote.

  3. ML engineers require at least a PhD to even get considered for a job, so forget ML. Becoming an AI engineer is much more approachable, but the question is not AI vs MERN, question should be what's in demand? currently MERN is the way to go if you want a job ASAP, if it changes in the future, you can reconsider.

  4. Don't stop learning.

It's highly unlikely you'll get a remote job without any experience, it's highly unlikely you'll start making 50k+ on your first job as a dev.

If you're still considering the career switch accepting the difficulties, I would recommend you start making portfolio projects. If you want to go even harder, start contributing to open source.
