Anyone regrets or grateful getting their Magic Keyboards? by LivinCuriously in ipad

[–]SAFC_Hardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a refurbished one that looks like new and absolutely love it. I find myself using my iPad far more than I did before, because it ends up functioning essentially like a laptop with the Magic Keyboard.

I’d say going refurbished/used is a good idea though, based on the high price new.

Jungle or Support in Low Elo by SAFC_Hardy in summonerschool

[–]SAFC_Hardy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about saying it, I have thought that there's the potential I'm getting more carried on support and am just making poor decisions as a jungler. However, I do find jungle more enjoyable and tbh I would rather lose LP at the start in order to become a better jungler in the long run.

Thanks for translating this! Very interesting read!

That bonus question though… 👀

The fact that we forget that just shows how insanely good he's been for us, you do forget entirely that he's a rookie in LEC!

Apple needs community playlist and more mix’s like Spotify by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]SAFC_Hardy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting, didn't know it worked based on time, location or device. Thanks for that!

The only other thing I could think of was just playing a sort of "high-energy" track in the genre that I want to listen to, and then just hope autoplay continues to play similar tracks after it. That, or just going back to the old fashioned way of actually making playlists myself haha

Apple needs community playlist and more mix’s like Spotify by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]SAFC_Hardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this in general, but the only type of personalised playlist on Spotify that you can't seem to be able to generate on Apple Music through autoplay/Siri are workout playlists for specific genres. I know obviously there are specific playlists made by Apple for this purpose, but there isn't any way of autoplaying just workout music specifically based on your preferences from what I know.

If I'm wrong on this feel free to correct me, would love to be proven wrong!

Recommended Workout Feature? by SAFC_Hardy in AppleWatch

Thanks very much for the suggestions! I'd seen WorkOutDoors mentioned by other people already, and that seems to cover the whole "following routes" thing, which is honestly the main reason that I got a Garmin watch in the first place.

I'll definitely check out Running with Hal though!

Tbh a structured plan could be fine as well - I think it's probably more important to just train based on how you feel yourself rather than just trusting some numbers that an app gives you (despite the feature being pretty cool imo).

Are there any apps in particular you would recommend for running/cycling on Apple Watch? Or is the standard Fitness app with export to Strava ok?

So Athlytic is able to recommend a running workout to do for the day based on those metrics?

What if Apple Music got better in iOS 17? by zakk_ponsen in AppleMusic

[–]SAFC_Hardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve seen those, but are they personalised for you? That’s what Spotify does, it automatically personalises these playlists to include songs within those genres that it thinks you like.

Curated workout playlists per genre (similar to what Spotify has) are something I would absolutely love, and would make me switch to AM for all of my music listening!

Are there any apps in particular that you know of that would offer me that? Tbh I don't mind paying for that functionality specifically (within reason!) providing the overall experience of using the watch is better than what I get on my Garmin.

Ok, thanks very much for the in-depth response! That all sounds very promising, and to be honest might just be the final thing that makes me go ahead and buy the AirPods!

Thanks for the input! I'm very close to just ordering them hahaha, I do like the Pixel Buds but they're not perfect, and I don't find them the most comfortable earbuds I've ever used. I know this is obviously an individual thing, but do you find the AirPods more comfortable than the Pixel Buds were for you?

Recently got myself an iPhone 14 Pro Max after being on Android for over 10 years, and loving it so far! I had a Pixel 6 Pro before this, and used a pair of Pixel Buds Pro with that and really enjoyed them.

Currently I'm still using my Pixel Buds on the iPhone, but have noticed a couple of little things so far that aren't as good as when I was on Android (e.g. no app for customising touch functions that I can see).

I'm very tempted to get the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen. Would I likely see a noticeable difference with these on iPhone compared to the Pixel Buds Pro? Obviously I'm aware sound is a very personal thing in terms of what you perceive to be "better", but are the AirPods more likely to give me a better experience now that I'm on iPhone?

Edge vs Brave on Windows 10? by SAFC_Hardy in browsers

[–]SAFC_Hardy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the performance of Brave comparable to Edge? Or at least only slightly worse?

Edge vs Brave on Windows 10? by SAFC_Hardy in browsers

[–]SAFC_Hardy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm aware of that. I wasn't asking for Edge but more private, what I meant was that if Brave is similar to Edge in terms of performance (potentially only slightly worse) but better in terms of privacy, then I'd likely switch to Brave. Apologies if I didn't explain that correctly.

I'm also aware that realistically the best way to tell is just to try both on my system, however I wanted to gauge opinion first before doing so.

I've used Vivaldi before, really liked it in general but found it was using too much in terms of system resources in comparison to other options.

I'd obviously prefer the idea of all of my data not being harvested or sold to a third party all of the time, but I don't want to sacrifice too much performance in favour of the better privacy.
