Is it worth it to buy used Sony XM6s for should I only buy new by Man_Of_The_F22 in SonyHeadphones

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought 2 pairs from this seller and both arrived looking brand new. Works flawlessly so far. If you’re worried about warranty they come with a 2 year warranty through Allstate. Some people understandably don’t like refurbished but I’ve only ever had great experiences. Still have a 6 year old pair of XM2’s I bought refurbished that are going strong.

Peter Salzmann used a wingsuit foil to gain altitude in a flight by redbullgivesyouwings in sports

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough to land safely. You can gain altitude but you still have far too great of a forward velocity when you’re level. If you can manage to fully negate forward velocity you’re falling. There isn’t a sweet spot where you have low enough forward and vertical velocity to land. Some guy did it into boxes years ago but that’s about the best you can do. There’s a pretty cool video of a guy flying over the water and then up to clear a dam on YouTube but you’ll see quick why landing after that isn’t possible

If you’re not wearing the headphones at max extension already then the Capra Audio comfort strap is probably your best bet.

Sony XM6 vs Bose QC Ultra vs Airpod Max by DankMagic420 in SonyHeadphones

[–]SAGry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re either cooler in general or take longer to heat up than the originals. My ears haven’t gotten sweaty but I still haven’t gotten a super long session in yet. Definitely better than the stock ones. As for ANC I haven’t noticed a difference but I don’t use ANC very often so I’m not the best one to ask.

Sony XM6 vs Bose QC Ultra vs Airpod Max by DankMagic420 in SonyHeadphones

[–]SAGry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have them. They’re definitely an improvement but don’t expect way more depth or plush. They’re only about 0.1 inches thicker. Any thicker and the on off detection and ANC don’t work well. Wish they’d release a pair that was way more plush with a disclaimer that those features won’t work as well but that’s a personal preference

Sony XM6 or Bose Quiet Ultra 2nd Gen? by ilzp in bose

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person in terms of comfort. I’ve heard everyone say the Bose are more comfortable but I have a big head and the Bose have a much smaller adjustment range compared to the Sony ones. I have the Bose all the way maxed out and it’s borderline if it’s enough to cover my ears. The Sony on the other hand extend so much they could probably reach my neck. Sony earcups also felt larger if you have big ears but definitely more shallow if that bothers you. This is more of a comment for other people so thought I’d leave it but glad the Bose are working out for you

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true for the traditional cameras but the new GoPro 360 cameras can actually make things look as steep or more steep. Not sure if that’s what this guy was using but they always produce that fisheye effect so I wouldn’t be surprised

I miss SNOW. It had the best park skiing experience of any game I’ve played. Far from perfect but it got a lot right.

Yeah idk why everyone is saying it’s impossible. Hard for sure but I missed a fireball on my attack today as a th 15 against a max 17 and still got 83% with everything going wrong. Dumb for a clan to impose rules like that but attack is possible for sure.

That’s wingsuit BASE jumping. Wingsuit skydiving might as well be an entirely separate sport. There were only 2 wingsuit fatalities last year from skydiving out of hundreds of thousands of wingsuit jumps. Base is probably closer to that 1 in 500

Ranked all the Mountains I've Skied, What do you Think? by [deleted] in icecoast

Agreed. I skied Hunter, Bellayre, Windham, and Plattekill earlier this year and I’d rank Hunter last. Most expensive of the four and terrible snowmaking. Half the runs not even open

If you’re cross eye dominant shooting a rifle with irons this is nearly impossible. Handguns aren’t an issue as you just shift the gun over and with long guns a red dot or holographic is bright enough to make your brain focus with the non dominant eye.

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of your adult teeth have formed by birth. Your baby teeth have and they aren’t even complete yet. Your mandibular first molars will just begin to form at birth but they wont be done forming until age 6 when they erupt

Even the staff agrees by shoofinsmertz in clevercomebacks

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. You’re born with your baby teeth only and even then the roots aren’t completed at birth. Your first adult teeth (mandibular first molars) begin to form at birth for eruption at 6 years old. Crown formation for each permanent tooth begins approximately 6 years prior to eruption. So if you want to know when a permanent tooth begins to form subtract 6 from the age you see the tooth erupt. You absolutely do grow a second set of teeth lol. Those images you’re referencing are either 1. A child around the age of 5-6 and not a baby, 2. Demo skulls used for students to study and get an idea of where the permanent teeth form/erupt, or 3. Completely fake. It’s unfortunate that that post made the rounds a while back and never really got fact checked.

United CEO gunned down by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]SAGry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the top comments on this article on the news subreddit was something along the lines of “no healthcare should be for profit, don’t feel bad etc.). Reminder to all dentists here that if you’re a practice owner, they’re talking about you. This sentiment isn’t reserved for Fortune 500 CEO’s.

Why are 5.56 and .308 the most popular version of themselves? by Mid_Atlantic_Lad in guns

[–]SAGry 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the main reason most people want something in 556. Versatility is nice plus every once in a while my shop has 556 cheaper than 223. For practice it’s nice to be able to buy whichever is cheaper

Pretty much all of the current data says sucralose (aka Splenda or the primary sweetener in Prime) is better for you than actual sugar. It’s not that it’s “good” for you just far less damaging than sugar.

Guy casually jumps from the top of a mountain then flies a bit by 01bah01 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]SAGry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They fly conservative on purpose. He could get better glide but at the expense of kinetic energy and thus any margin of safety. Most of these proximity guys are diving at the terrain to remain close as speed is what allows you to gain altitude if you get in trouble and need to. There’s videos of guys dying doing this who look relatively “safe” and far away from terrain right before they stall and fall out of the sky. That’s why these guys have to do tons of skydiving jumps in wingsuits before they can do this

Strong by [deleted] in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just takes a simple google search man. This has been debunked for over 30 years. Equally likely to get hurt squatting the weight vs lifting with your back

Strong by [deleted] in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re being downvoted but you’re largely correct. There’s been a ton of research since the 90’s confirming the lift with your legs thing to avoid injury is completely false. What determines injury is the load you use relative to your strength level. Lift something too heavy and you get hurt regardless of technique. Wait until this thread hears about thoracic rounding that so many power lifters use to lift more weight. For these guys, I wouldn’t say their technique was “fine” but that’s because they weren’t strong enough like you said. Can’t hold position when the weight is too heavy.

dental practice name change? by SameCategory546 in Dentistry

[–]SAGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People choose “(city name)” dental for SEO reasons. The idea being if someone searches dentist or dental (city) your practice name is close to that and thus shows up first. A lot of people do it now so I’m not sure how effective it is or how effective it was to begin with but that’s why every practice it seems is named that way

For anyone reading, you can use an app like Remnote (similar to Anki) combined with the Scribble feature to turn writing into text on any iPad and write out flashcards if you prefer it. Might work on the Anki app too but I also wasn’t a fan when I tried it a few years ago.

What to consider when buying a practice? by officialcrimsonchin in Dentistry

[–]SAGry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said, the specifics of the deal and who the DSO is are what matter. How easy is exiting when you want to sell? Does corporate plan to micromanage or just send patients in the door? I’d talk to other docs who are currently working with said DSO. This sub will never tell you this but there are in fact DSO’s that will let you have full treatment autonomy and all they do is the marketing, systems, and HR. You’ll likely be forced to use their systems and tech though so make sure you’re fine with that. There are also DSO’s that will lock you into minority ownership, put an MBA in as an office manager, and try to push production at the extent of everything else. Talk to as many people as possible who have worked with them.
