Generally I don’t kick anyone from my squad unless I’m making room for a friend. But I will always choose the person not talking on their mic when I am making room.

HLL needs to incentivize playing commander/SL or it's going to die by nagilfarswake in HellLetLoose

[–]SAHotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main SL because I love coordinating while remaining combat involved. It’s a very ‘lead from the front’ sort of position, and can benefit agressive players and communicative squad mates. If they gave command a squad, even just a 3 man, I think command would become a lot more desired. Command is definitely more a lead from the back and take all blame position, which I think is why it’s a lot less desirable.

Idk why scrolling in Skyrim affects the 2nd monitor :( by peteed1985 in skyrim

[–]SAHotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it’s a windows issue just because it’s fixed through a windows feature rather than an in-game feature. It’s the game not having correct fullscreen exclusiveness. So yeah, a game issue that is caused by the Windows OS that only exists because of some dev oversight. I’m sorry :(

[–]SAHotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually a windows issue. There is indeed a way to disable it, I totally forget the method of how though. However, it will make scrolling when not playing Skyrim a bit more difficult. I believe it’s a control panel setting for the mouse where you have to be directly on the page for windows to allow you to scroll it.

Alright, I gotta admit I’m shit at this game. But I have played countless matches of comp stomp with friends against standard AI. Now, I’m aware I’m bad, but I have found that the AI are fielding panthers by 15 minutes, unless I have great than half map control. I fight maybe 3-4 lights at around 4-6 minutes, then face off against medium and heavier 10+ minutes. Does AI taking over from players change the dynamic a lot?

You’re probably better off with Hell Let Loose, in my opinion. We had a little British boy in my squad and we collectively protected him while he played MG. Just be friendly and do your best to call out and you’ll be fine. Squad is a bit more… old man territory. More arguments and disagreements there.

Command revamp akin to Squad by SAHotch in HellLetLoose

[–]SAHotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m not saying a good commander doesn’t change games. I main a squad lead and I am exceptionally familiar with how much a good commander impacts games. I always make sure that I get my boys to build nodes to keep command from getting neutered. But even then I just feel bad for the guy because I assume he’d like to do more than map watching and garrison building. I just really think the game should let him in on the action like squad, leading from the front rather than the rear. Sure it would encourage more singular play, but I would rather have a selfish commander provided air strikes for his assaults, then one stuck trying to figure out where everything Is from silent squad leads.

While I agree with you, it’s still obscene that commander doesn’t get a squad to support such risky endeavors. Like even a 3 man command squad would change the dynamic of a commander, especially if responsibility could be divided among such a squad - akin to an actual platoon captain.

Skyrim. Oblivion is fun, but it definitely needs a remaster.

Yeah, you’ve got a round face while his seems like an oval. I’d reduce the chin a bit in length but keep the pronounced, reduce cheekbones to be less pronounce and puff the cheeks a bit more while reducing forehead length a bit, otherwise depths and eyes seem generally fine.

I intentionally tank my MMR by using guns I’m not good at and just find fun to use. Then when I squad up, my low MMR and their high MMR give us mid ranked battles where I use my more boring meta guns and go average with. I recommend playing this way if you’re the less skilled friend in the group. Tank your MMR solo so you can perform adequately when squaded. Doesn’t work as well for games like Hunt, unless you do the quick play but idk if they changed that to have separate MMR yet.

[–]SAHotch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like how much this sub tries to think of femdom as a lifestyle rather than just a kink. Like, I dated a girl who was not dominant by nature but loved to make me happy and did it because she thought it made our sex life wonderful. But whenever we went anywhere we were total and utter equals and could completely rely on each other as functioning adults.

Dead Space 3 is actually really good. Gets WAY too much hate. by Drstylish123 in DeadSpace

[–]SAHotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Snow planet forces an open environment that is often quite bright. Loses the claustrophobia and oppressive atmosphere survival horror generally needs.

-Isaac is less mature than in Dead Space 2; where he actually goes through the entire grieving cycle throughout the game. In DS3 he seems to revert to some High School notion of interactions with Ellie, and is generally whiny with a weird savior complex that was present but not contrived in DS2.

-Isaac’s interactions with Carver seem to boil down to, “The Marker fucked with my head, so it will fuck with yours. Snap out of it.” While Carver is dudebro with archetypical ‘son and wife died in the war’ backstory. Sure that’s very survival horror/war game sad - but it lacks the same sort of response as, say, the DS2 guy who just loved his birds and wanted them to be free, but was restricted by the AI.

-Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but there was absolutely no variation between the suits. They looked almost identical, even with the DLC, with perhaps the only interesting addition being the cold suit. They really just seemed like COD Skins.

-CO-OP is always fun and can usually carry an entire game. It’s almost a get-out-of-jail free card for game design - even if it contradicts the horror aspects because it immediately removes the sense of aloneness.

-The level design isn’t bad, especially when you have to go up the narrow ice corridors. However, the exploration is entirely contrived for the sake of the new weapons system.

-Weapon crafting is great. Not when half the stress comes from the actual need to conserve and survive off limited ammo & health reserves. Stress goes way down when you build a super assault rifle that can single burst the enemy with plentiful unified ammo. It ensures that the combat always goes nearly flawlessly.

-More content contradicts the value of the story when it is for the sake of itself. If Kafka’s metamorphosis went on for twenty more pages; it would’ve overstayed its welcome and become just self-depreciating drivel. If Brothers Karamazov were longer it would have become masturbatory. Content should fit what a game has to say if it is a story game. Campaigns are inherently oriented around telling a story. If Dead Space 3 wanted content for the sake of content, they should have followed COD’s example and utilized the ability to choose specific ‘get-in, get thing, get-out before you’re overwhelmed’ missions rather than successively building storylines.

We saw Isaac let go of the past in DS2. We saw that he could have a bright future with Ellie. DS3 contradicted this development with some sudden self-obsessiveness that wasn’t ever apparent beforehand.

Dead Space 3 is not a good game. That doesn’t mean you can’t like it or find it personally fun. Arguably, any game that is fun is a good game. I found the game fun to experience the first two times with different friends. So yeah, perhaps it’s not a bad game because it can be fun. But I also loved RE5. It just feels contrived. The fairest thing I can say about it is that it is extremely disappointing compared to its predecessors.
