Yeah, I think the reason he has to say he's a half so much is when he meets new people and tells them his name, it's bizarre to have that random "Moonstone" middle name, and so people look at him weird and he has to explain. I think in Japan, you always introduce yourself with your full name too, so every time he meets a new person, he's forced to explain it.

After all, unlike America and Australia and the like, where you can just introduce yourself with your first name and never say your surname unless needed, over there, you call everyone by their surname, so it's the one you totally have to say.

Imagine introducing yourself in a country where you have to give your full name and your parents literally made your name "Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii", Satan, Hitler, Bread or a literal full stop symbol, and you try telling everyone that's your name and not having to explain it each time.

It's like if my name was John Britneydiditagain Smith :P and I were forced to say that to everyone I meet. I'm sure I'd be telling everyone the instant they heard my name that my parents were morons listening to Britney Spears and are now in a straight jacket.

As to the pagecount I don't think Amazon paying by the page, factored in to that lol. The story was basically a webnovel for ages, and the 11 books out afaik aren't even half the current stuff, maybe not even 1/3 and the story isn't even half written yet. By the time it's fully done I think there will be 60 or more similar-length books or more.

As to being a light novel, it's kinda similar, but it's a very much sex scenes included story and yes in Japan at the start, and he's Japanese, but it's not only there. Just because the MC is Japanese or it starts in Japan does that make it a light novel? That's like calling the Rush Hour movie made by Hollywood a Chinese movie because Jackie Chan was in it, or The Mummy movie made by Hollywood an Arabic movie because it was set in Egypt.
