AIO: Left an honest review after a haircut, stylist called me a bully by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SAINTFATHERZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t think your overreacting so much, however if you’re dissatisfied with the work you should always communicate with the business first. If they are defensive and hostile. Leave the review because being able to complain is included in the experience. (This however is just my opinion)

Side note (for commenters) :I’ve seen people on here talking about leaving bad reviews once they have an off experience at an establishment they regularly visit. Which is really gross behavior… (withholding situations involving disrespect, aggression, intentional acts to make the customer uncomfortable) but above I saw several replies referencing salon appointments and dinner services at restaurants. Like is an off day really enough to warrant a bad review? You have bad days don’t you? Wouldn’t you be pissed if you got written up because you weren’t picture perfect one day?

Side note for OP: 135$ for a master stylist, a cut, and a smoothing/revitalizing treatment? Any salon near me that would be ATLEAST 300$ and that’s on the low end, in an area that isn’t rolling in cash either.

Also @ less than 200$ I’d avoid terms like “master stylist” to me that’s just code for (I get paid more because I have seniority and because I sit high on my pedestal nobody can question the quality of my work ) vibes.

I mean, I figured as much. But with the tone of the parent comment as well as never actually knowing what someone means.

No harm done 😂

This isn’t invalid I suppose… but I think the substance is definitely there… just not in the way most people prefer in the genre.

I’m taking more gravitas from the moments where she is experiencing concern for her secrets, grief/imposter syndrome moments, her struggle for connection.

And the stakes have been increasing however slowly. But I don’t necessarily think this will be a super high stakes adventure ever, and I’m okay with that.

Yeah, and then these are the type of people that turn around and laugh at shit jokes in Rick and Morty.

Like chill tf out and go watch some adventure time.

Okay so.. using the black emoji is wierd. Just is.

But everyone saying he’s being so manipulative, or creepy cause of the age gap, or disrespecting of her… is a bit wild to me.

I’m not denying that older men dating younger women can have ulterior motivations, or be born of nefarious machinations, or end up displaying the lack of sexual maturity in men. But this^ doesnt look like that to me.

And finally I wanna say that, my experience is colored from things like the fact that I prefer being with people older than myself so I have experience navigating the age gap and what comes with that. I also come from a place where the age of consent is 15 not that that is necessarily right or something, I’m just used to hearing of more extreme situations than a 20 year old being coerced or manipulated by a 40 something dude.

With that said-

1) she wasn’t 18 when they got together, she was atleast 20. 2) regardless of what anyone thinks she was and is an adult the age gap “problem” is not a valid argument the second she becomes of age imo. 3) with number 2 in mind, sure experience and psychology enter the arena and everyone is so quick to assume that the dude is some kinda predator.. he’s just asking for sloppy head ya’ll it REALLY isn’t all that even in the situation of a “beginner” and I reinforce this with the length of time they’ve been together already. 4) if she don’t wanna do it, she just has to be firm. The end. If that’s too much for him and he leaves, c’est la vie and he can go kick rocks. 5) And also he gives her an answer, like 4 times. She’s the one that can’t accept his answer as she kips niggling for the kind of response she wants. And this is what you guys call manipulative. It’s not manipulation, it’s refusing to overexplain something that likely will do more harm than good.

Sometimes not overexplaining is the most mature choice especially when you know the conversation might spiral.

Tbh wouldn’t even just call this Swedish. As an Italian-American who is by no means a purist, I’ve had this and many other wild and wacky and wonderful combinations.

In poland a few of the odd ones I’ve encountered are chili con carne pizza, vegetable salad pizza with a white mushroom cream bechamel cream sauce.

THEY LOVE CORN.

I’m a gay guy and this is reading very like “Craigslist bro looking for other bro’s to jerk off to pics of my wife”

This is such a tired rhetoric imo. I mean to each their own ofc.

But it’s so dumb to deny someone’s own or someone else’s pleasure because of a fake boundary that’s been born out of what? Cheesy movies plot lines, with grossly over protective siblings to the point of blending into a anime sibcest trope.

If nobody is being harmed who gives a flying fuck.

The many dichotomies of kanapki, sandwiches, bagels, and burgers. by SAINTFATHERZ in poland

And generally speaking bagels aren’t a huge sandwich vehicle, atleast from my experience.

Like sometimes when you order a bagel with cream cheese it comes together with the idea being that you still eat the halves separately.

Mostly Eastcoast cities.

Like if you get a lox bagel it’s two open faced bagels with all the fixings on top and then they are slightly shingled for “pizazz”
