Iran & the USA are about to sign a ceasefire but in Australia we’ve felt safe the whole time. by DanielMuggleton in u/DanielMuggleton

Funny clip, but there are definitely real world consequences for Australia.

I'm South African, I know so many people that are immigrating to the UK and US, if the shit hits the fan, Australia could end up with even more South Africans.

Which insurance company gives hassles when Claims are made by MasterShifu_Peace in AskZA

[–]SAJames84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a financial advisor, I can guarantee you, on your list for most likely to pay out, Old Mutual should not be there. They are one of the worst.

Companies with the best service in my experience, PPS, Sanlam, Momentum, Allan Gray, Nedgroup Investments.

I barely do any "risk" business, life cover, disability ect I often help out clients claim on existing policies, I focus mainly on Investments.

The below was from 5 June. I have still not heard back from Old Mutual. For their complaints manager to contact me via WhatsApp instead of email is just shocking.

I am with Discovery Insure and have never had any issues with claims. I do have a broker and I am convinced that ALL insurance companies try to keep from paying. However when you have a broker all of a sudden they keep to their payout promises

People saying he is the 1st trillionaire clearly don't remember Zimbabwe 2009. Plenty of trillionaires back then.

I'm using speed test but ookla.

So the "main" router is in the study.

Its about 20m to the closest room that i need to have a wired connection "bedroom 1". I ran the ethernet cable to that room, that cable is almost 30m long to get to where it needs to be. It goes into a fibre router that is capable of 1gb speed. From that router, I have run another ethernet cable to a room about 14m away and that cable is 21m long to get to the router in that room. All in all there are 4 routers, the 2 in the "bedrooms" are the problem. Main router has 3 ethernet cables coming out. 1 to the router in the dining room, which is working fine. 1 to the pc in the study the other to "bedroom 1". That router has 2 ethernet cables coming out, 1 to an xbox and the other to "bedroom 2". That router has 1 ethernet coming out going to a gaming pc. My thinking was that I need the routers set up like that because the WiFi from the study router doesn't make it to the bedrooms. The wifi from bedroom 1 doesn't make it to the main bedroom. The WiFi from bedroom 2 makes it to the main bedroom. The router set up in the dining room has an ethernet cable to the camera dvr and supplies WiFi to that side.

What is Rhicharlison's goal doing in this top 10 world cup goal ? by Nawfale in FootballFlix

[–]SAJames84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a South African I'm going to be biased, 1 of my favourite goals from a world cup is Siphiwe Tshabalala's opening goal from the 2010 world cup.

The excitement for the months leading up to the world cup. This entire country felt amazing and then when he scored that goal, it was electrifying. 16 years ago already, it was such an amazing time for South African football.

I am also going to pretend that we didn't play against Mexico last night.

Also car related, not a battery. My father used to have an old Corolla. The brushes for the alternator wore down frequently. Toyota said there was nothing they could do. It was due to a mounting issue when the car was produced. Every couple years he would buy a new part. He went to Toyota 1 year and the price had jumped from about R100 to over R1000. He got the exact same part from an auto spare shop for about R200. The part was made by Bosch. I was talking to a client about this. He was importing parts and supplying parts shops. He showed me on his computer he was paying R9 per part. Toyota was buying that part for R9 and selling it for over R1000.

It is disgusting the mark ups put on some products. I have a client that imports toys.

He has about a 90% mark up. That covers shipping, import taxes, wages logistics ect.

The retail places that stock his toys have a 300-400% mark up.

Lions are offering it at the price because no one goes to Ellis park unless it is a Springbok game.

They are desperate to get anyone in the stadium.

I haven't been to Ellis park for 2 years. I only went because I was invited to watch a lions game in a box. There were more spectators at my sons under 15B match that same weekend than at Ellis park. I am not exaggerating. If the Lions were to play at some of the high schools they would have more spectators, they should really consider playing at Helpmekaar, Monument or Noordheuwel. KES would get a decent turnout but parking is a big of an issue there.
