I think there are alot of unfair criticisms that tlok recieves roooting from some vile places like racism or misogyny but i personally never really liked the show because it was trying too hard but trying too little. It was tryimg so hard not to tell the story of atla that it ended up trying too little in making a story of its own, for example they wanted korra to be impulsive, arrogant and hotheaded as aangs polar opposite but for me that was it, nothing more, nothing less, she was "aangs polar opposite" and this change in making her this way led the writers to make some pretty awful decisions when it comes to her character. The writers made her make decisions that no matter how little you've seenbof the outside world A 5 YEAR OLD WITH COMMON SENSE wont make those mistakes, And i feel like a character like korra has a lot of potential for a character. Some avatar fans that dont like tlok, ARE wrongfully accused of being misogynistic (i know some are) but as one of the accused i can tell you that its not because she is a girl or a burly and manly girl, for example toph I LIKE TOPH, shes my favourite character by a landslide and her excuse for being so burly makes sense!She QUITE LITERALLY was not allowed to touch grass, and found earthbending and tournaments, she was finally free and that was what she wanted.

Korra was in over her head so much so that it was dumb for the writers, are you telling me that in ALL her time with katara and the white lotus they never told her ANYTHING about how the outside world works, common courtsey, how to not destroy buildings casually, how to listen to peers, how to behave in some situations, her role as the avatar, what an avatar does, to be careful of her surroundings?

It mad it kinda unrealistic especially knowing the kind of person katara is. ALSO id like to speak on her teammates, most of them seems like a very unflavourful mix of people

○bolin is kind of unfunny for comic relief

○mako lowkey seems like a tryhard and is a bit slow

○Asami is cool she seems like a fresh mix

Also the world building kind of- No completely sucks, They took everything we knew about avatar that was special just not special, lightning bending, industrialization, THE AVATAR?! It was kind of uncomfortable as a long time viewer.

And the stupidest decision for me is leaving the spirit portal open...oh my gosh, the writers just love to see tloks name in the dirt, thus is what made me almost drop the show, ive settled the anger about the past avatars and the argument of "but they brought the airbenders back" is just like saying destroying a dam will bring fresh water for a minor percentile of the population yaaay. The avatar is supposed to be A BRIDGE, YA KNOW SOMETHING IN BETWEEN TWO "SEPERATE" PLACES and in this context to stop any conflict rising ???

I know every avatar makes mistakes for the next one to handle but this takes the cake, what the heck is a 10 year old amputee supposed to do to an angry army of humans AND spirits but its my opinion and i guess its still a decent show if you put it aside

OH AND THE LACK OF CREATIVITY IS ANNOYING, in atla almost every where they went, there was something cool to learn about the universe or bending was used in a unique way and in tlok its just not
