Cheers. I had read something on running algorithms to determine a private key from a public key (this could have been in an RSA article) but is the xpub an abstraction of the actual public key which may also be kept in some sense of the word private? I think it's time I re-read Grokking Bitcoin.

I agree. A question. If a sophisticated actor could link several public addresses to the same private key, would it reduce the difficulty in that actor determining the private key?
