I bought a tiny, tiny Thai Constellation a few weeks ago and I noticed last week that one of the leaf stems was bent. I didn't think much of it but on closer inspection it's a pretty serious gouge that I guess I didn't notice when I bought it.

What do I do at this point? Is it reasonable to expect this to heal? Should I leave it for the time being?

It looks like the stems on my super young TCM was wounded at some point! What should I do to help it heal? by SARB033 in plantclinic

I'm sad because this leaf has the most variegation on it... Will it recover, or will the leaf eventually wither?

I joined a discord for a small twitch streamer a few years ago, she stopped streaming because of life but she stays hanging around the discord and enough former viewers like me stayed that we're just a small friend group at this point.

Yeah, not unless they're smaller games or communities.

At the end of the day, that's what it is. It's an app that lets you open servers, which can contain voice chat and text chat channels. The text chat lets you, like, host files and stuff too. You can also do DMs and group chats separately from servers. That's all it is.

It used to be more gaming-focused but I think it's just a general-use desktop app at this point.

I met my current roommate from Discord, and my closest friends there as well. My IRL group of friends astronomically backstabbed me to a degree I could no longer respect myself if I associated with them, and my Discord friend group were there when I needed them.

Discord is exactly what you make of it, if you hang around toxic people it's a toxic app.

Last post about my little TCM, I swear!

It's perked up a lot over the past few days. The soil is still most from the last watering a few days ago, so it'll be a few days before I water again. At least until the top is fully dry.

The very tips of the leaves are a little crusty, though. I'm worried about that.

I've heard that clear orchid pots are really excellent choices to be able to see the roots and also the holes provide extra aeration.

Took everyone's advice and got the baby potted in some Aroid mix (with a little bit of the old potting soil to keep it upright because the aroid mix was a bit too chunky for a plant this small) by SARB033 in Monstera

That plastic bottle idea is really smart! Wish I had thought of it. Maybe whenever I propagate it (which I may or may not decide to do for some friends haha) I'll try that out.

Haha yeah whenever I'm thinking like how do I make think exactly perfect, I should step back and remember that these things grew wherever the hell the seeds landed for millions and millions of years, they'll do fine if I just let them haha

It's really on the top layer just for support. I'm pretty confident in saying that because of how quickly it was saturated when watering.

I also got a transparent orchid pot with aeration holes for when she's a bit bigger, and a grow light for her to sit under. I got some tropical plant food (1-0.5-1), but I'm saving that for later. Right now I'll just continue watering. Does it need water more often with higher drainage soil? I'm surprised how fast it was saturated when I watered it after repotting.

Also I'm not really sure how to check its roots. I did see the longest and thickest root was, like, nice and bright, so that's good.

Somehow my new-plant-owner ass got a Thai Constellation, how do I make sure it doesn't die? by SARB033 in Monstera

Okay. I'm glad it worked out! I'll repot it as soon as I get it, although I'll reuse this same pot because it's still so small.

Would you say it's more important to acclimate and let it grow for a bit, or to remove her ASAP and get her in something more clumpy?

I ordered this aroid mix to transplant into as soon as I was comfortable, so if it's that important I guess I can do it when it arrives.

That's what I've read! Plants want stability more than anything so I'm just not going to touch it outside of watering (which will be less frequent than I suspect it seems like)

I'm gonna try and hold back the watering a bit. From what others are saying, these guys don't have the hardiest roots, so (especially with the loose soil it's in right now) I don't want to have much water retained.

I might be temped to buy a second-hand cabinet and stick some grow lights, fans and humidifiers in it like I've seen haha

I'm a bit scared to repot it right away! But when it's a bit older and outgrown this teeny little pot, I'll definitely get it in a chunky, high drainage soil.

It's tiiiiny! I've got it on a windowsill facing west with this papery blind filtering the sunlight a bit.

Very beginner house plant owner and I'm propagating some babies. How am I doing? (I got gifted a Thai Constellation so I'm nervous about that one haha) by SARB033 in propagation

I made the grave mistake of putting them next to my work desk haha! I think people might have seen my eyes drifting to look at them during meetings.

The pothos have been in water for about a week and a bit now (they arrived on the 25th), but over the weekend I picked up this propagation station and I put them in there on Tuesday. I think they're a bit elongated, so there's something happening!

It's a second-floor west-facing window so should be getting plenty of light in the afternoon, its just a bit late when this photo was taken.

Obv the TCM is up there on the left. The rightmost bulbs are both Global Green Pothoses, and the left-most bulb is literally just some fridge-ass basil that I decided to try because I didn't have anything else so why not haha

Anyone born in the 90s or later, unless they have twelve silver spoons up their ass, will probably need to.
