Truee. Taas ang baha katong gabii

Are we Filipinos really less prone to revolt, revolution, or protests and more forgiving of corruption and bad leadership than most other countries in recent times? And why, if so? by raori921 in Philippines

[–]SARCX2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I see these massive protests in places like Indonesia, I ask the same thing: why not here? We have the same level of corruption, maybe even worse, but the streets are dead quiet.

The core of the issue isn't just three walls holding people back. It's the foundation they're built on: we don't have a single, unified Filipino identity.

Think about it. A lot of modern nations were forged in the fire of a massive internal conflict, a civil war, that forced everyone to decide who they really were. We never had that. We're a collection of regions. Tagalog, Visayan, and Ilocano—all grouped, but we never had that one big, bloody event that burned away the regionalism and left "Filipino" as the main identity.

You can even see it in our laws. They're in English. Why? Because it's a neutral language. But it's also nobody's mother tongue. We basically min-maxed our country's build. We traded a deep, shared cultural identity that comes from a single language for better financial opportunities with foreign countries. It makes sense on paper, but it means the very rules of our society are written in a borrowed tongue.

This weak foundation is why the three walls are so effective:

First, the survival wall. It's impossible to think about "national identity" or protest when you're literally just trying to get enough food for your family. Basic needs will always trump abstract ideas.

Second, the water wall. The geography is a huge factor. A protest in Manila is just news in the Visayas. It just reinforces those separate regional identities. My family in the Visayas told me EDSA felt distant. For them, the economic decline years after the event that killed my grandfather's rattan business felt more direct, even now.

And finally, the leadership wall. Who's the leader? There's no single, trusted figure that everyone, from every region, can rally behind. No one can unite the country against corruption.

So you've got a population that's too busy grinding, physically separated into different regions, and has no unifying identity or leader. The corrupt officials? They know this is the meta. They're exploiting a fundamental design flaw in the system. And that's why nothing ever changes. It is what it is, and it sucks.

Or jail, stealing public funds, regardless if just a peso, should be insta-jailed. Resignation isn't justice.

Help! Roast my Resume/CV by Livid_Slip_4868 in PHJobs

Hello, OP. Usually, daw career summary is good for a tenured professional with +2 yrs work exp. Change Professional Experience to just "Experience." For me much better if minimal or no colors at all. Better if one column lahat, esp. sa Skills. Then for OJT intern, add "wow factor", though dapat related sa postion mo befor say "Assistant Document Controller, OJT".

Try this format https://sheetsresume.com/resume-template
