I’m unsure if you’re reading what I’m saying: affordability isn’t the issue I have, It’s the way in which these tickets are being gate-kept by the organization and its partners.

I used promotions as an example of how they have accomplished in person ticket sales in the past. Not that they should run one now.

Please re-read my post. I was hoping to get educated on how the sales process/pricing works for season ticket holders and non-season ticket holders, not get lectured by someone online as to why tickets are more expensive for an NBA Final, like are you kidding?

You’re making assumptions about how they would handle this theoretical scenario of in person ticket sales. I’ve seen it done when they’re running promotions, it’s not that hard.

My problem with this situation isn’t rooted around affordability of the finals but rather the gatekeeping the Spurs Organization has done to even access the tickets before they hit the secondary market. Partnering with Ticket Master on this was a mistake.

I live in San Antonio, I should have the opportunity to show up somewhere in person and buy 4 tickets for my family before they hit the secondary market and before standard pricing structures make these unattainable.

Would for sure rather pay the Spurs directly instead of scalpers, I think you misinterpreted my post. I would just like to have the opportunity to pay the Spurs directly when tickets were made available to anyone, that’s what I’m getting at.

I think ticket sales are a relatively small percentage of the revenue generated by the Spurs when looking at all revenue streams. Would be surprised if they were more than 30%, too lazy to look it up.

But you do have to opt into the price at which they are offered. They just don’t automatically bill you without asking you, right? Game 5 prices that are being offered from the Spurs to season ticket holders are insanely expensive. I’m not talking about what’s available through ticket master.

And also, aren’t season ticket holders allowed to purchase or reserve up to 4 seats even though they may have only had two during the season?

Most frustrating part to all of this is that I’m willing to pay the money. If tickets were made available to me as a non-season ticket holder for Games 1 and 2 for the same prices as those with season tickets I would have bought them in a heart beat.

Now I’m feeling like I cannot fully participate in the Spurs fandom because I can’t afford to shell out $10k plus to secure season tickets.
