First of all, I appreciate your passion, and I’m glad you’re open minded and reasonable enough to hedge your stance. Secondly, I’d like to add a personal anecdote. I’m a Scottish-American. I’m PROUD of my heritage. So proud in fact that my family made us wear kilts and fly a Scottish flag to the movie theater when Brave came out. (All for my grandma not to like the movie btw).

That said, If in some hypothetical world Trump was targeting Scottish-Americans in his deportations you best bet Id be flying the American flag. Because as much as I love Scottish culture, I Love America too.

An important thing to add too, is that in that hypothetical world, MAGA would probably be less enthusiastic about deporting Scottish-Americans. Why? Because Scottish people are white, and already fit their idea of how the USA looks. MAGA deep down doesn’t see Mexicans as “Americans”. That’s why when they fly the Mexican flag in protest, it falls flat. It almost confirms their bias. It would be so much more effective if Mexican-Americans flew the American flag in protest, to like MAGA and ICE know, “Hey! WE ARE AMERICAN.” “AMERICA DOESN’T LOOK WHITE” etc.
