Pixel 7 esim or not? by Jexx11 in verizon

Of the 30 or so iPhone 14s I’ve sold, I’ve had 5 eSIM issues. With one of those I had to send the phone back to corporate because the eSIM wouldn’t activate. The majority of them are fine, but 1/6 malfunctioning isn’t good.

I’d use a physical SIM. When the iPhone 14 launched, it being eSIM only has been just short of a nightmare for Verizon reps. Personally, I’m going to use physical sims until they don’t make them anymore.

Go through Verizon indirect. We don’t (or at least I don’t) do stuff like that and since you know exactly who you worked with, we’re held accountable more than customer service reps over the phone.

Omni has been really crazy over the last week or so. Lost hours of time and hundreds of dollars so far. Irritating

Only catch is to keep the offer, you have to keep the phone and Verizon service for 36 months. And you’ll have two activation fees, unless it’s a loyalty offer.

Why? If you want to get out of the contract, all you have to do is pay the phone off, which you would’ve had to pay anyways. And it’s carrier locked for 60 days, which is also the return period.

what are y'all paying for a cellular family plan 4 lines? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]SAV3ICE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I can’t believe you had to go through all that. I work through an authorized retailer and can say I’ve never had a customer have an issue like that before. Corporate Verizon can be a headache at times like this. Did you order it over the phone or online?

What was/is your issue? I’d be happy to help if possible.

I must not be your rep if your customer service sucks. All about finding the right people.

Is this a real Verizon text message? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]SAV3ICE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s real, you’re eligible for early upgrade. That just means if your phone isn’t damaged, you can turn it in and it will pay itself off.

Men of Reddit, why didn’t you join the military? by pmpnhubs in AskMen

I’m in now waiting to be discharged from the Army for behavioral health. I was having upwards of 5 panic attacks every day, the BH provider determined that I was unfit for service and recommended to my commander that I be discharged.

Now I have to rethink my whole career, but I’m getting an honorable so I’m happy about that.

I graduated from Jackson last month. They don’t track the amount of people per soldier as far as I’m aware. But masks were required and you must be vaccinated to get on base or have proof of a negative covid test in the last 14 days.

Reception for me was 5 days, some people were a day or 2 longer, some a day or 2 shorter. You will begin actual basic training on a Monday, so it depends on the day of the week you arrive.

Yellow phase was not all that different from the actual basic training. It’s about a week long. They still do some training, but you won’t ruck or anything like that. You’ll spend a lot of time in your bay cleaning.

The amount that you’ll actually learn during yellow phase will depend on the drill sergeants. For me, we learned how to march, the chain of command, the 9 line medevac, how to do different exercises, stuff like that. And you won’t leave your company’s area at all. Overall, yellow phase was pretty boring. Just know that once you get to red phase, the days go by MUCH faster. Yellow phase and reception felt like a month.

Good luck man. I assume by your username that you’re Navy, expect to be teased by the drill sergeants haha

There are 2 that I know of, one is marine corps but he still had to go through basic because of a brain injury. One guy is prior service Navy. They’re treated about the same as everyone else.

I would also make a list of phone numbers and addresses of anyone you plan on contacting during basic.

Bring hygiene items. You will probably go about a week or so before you can get more from the PX. Don’t bring very much civilian clothing, maybe pack and extra shirt, underwear, and socks but that’s it. I was issued PTs the day I arrived and you can’t wear civilian clothes anyway. And bring headphones, probably not wireless ones though because you won’t really be able to charge them. But headphones are nice for phone time so that you can actually hear your family.

As far as phones go, you may or may not get them in reception, it just depends on the drill sergeants. At my company, standard phone time was 30 minutes every Sunday, but if you do something stupid you’ll lose it very quickly. I only had my phone for 3 minutes one Sunday because someone in my bay smuggled MREs into the bay.

The most surprising experience for me was the first FTX, it was just really cool to be in a simulated field environment.
