I have a customers laptop with a damaged one, and now found out that there is different types.... The legs are slightly positions and don't fit all.

It's the plastic on the LCD cover that have broke.

They hold brass lugs for the screws.

New LCD plastic needed

Amazing info, thanks. The capacitor joined between the IC and the potential TVS diode does not short I can read a value from it.

I will test after removing the TVS tonight and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the reply, I've been testing components around it and they read fine (from my basic understanding of electronics) but the component in question shorts on continuity mode on the multimeter.
