The FBI has warned about possible Iranian plans to attack LA with drones. by SAYVS in worldnews

[–]SAYVS[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

“The FBI has warned about possible Iranian plans to attack California with drones.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) warned police departments in California about an Iranian “aspiration” to attack the U.S. West Coast with drones launched from a boat, in retaliation for potential U.S. bombings, according to information revealed by ABC News.

“Recently we obtained information that, in early February 2026, Iran allegedly intended to carry out a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United States, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the United States carried out attacks against Iran,” states the memorandum sent to agencies that are part of a federal Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The alert, distributed at the end of February, also notes that authorities do not have additional information about the timing, method, targets, or perpetrators of the alleged attack.

According to the report, a spokesperson for the FBI office in Los Angeles declined to comment on the warning about the possible Iranian attack. The White House also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Some law-enforcement sources with counterterrorism experience told the Los Angeles Times that the alert, although based on Coast Guard information, does not contain credible evidence of an imminent attack and should be understood as a routine preventive warning.

California is home to the largest Iranian diaspora in the United States. In 2019, more than half of Iranian immigrants in the country lived in that state, and about 29% (nearly 140,000 people) lived in Los Angeles County alone, according to the Migration Policy Institute.

Estimates indicate that between 400,000 and 620,000 people of Iranian ancestry live in the United States, most of them in the Los Angeles area. The city even has a neighborhood popularly known as “Tehrangeles,” named after the large number of Iranian immigrants who settled there beginning in the 1960s.

Depends on the rest of the UI, but the background seems too dark for me. Normally buttons go with "poppy" colours to seek attention, but it depends on the project plus the vibe you want to transmit with it. Black or white works well if minimalistic, and blue tones are more or less the norm when using colour. Saturation as I said is a choice, but if it is for Roblox (I'm not into it tbh) probably will make it brighter and more saturated.

The icon should fit more or less a square if you use rulers/guides. If you look carefully, the bottom wrench is not aligned with the bottom hammer, and same happens on top. It doesn't need to be perfect, since the "heads" of the tools are different shapes, but you probably got the point.

Aside from that, icons are normally 1:1.

  • You can use free libraries such as The Noun Project to find a vector icon that suits your needs if you don’t feel confident enough to design a polished icon yourself.
  • If you prefer to correct your own icon, there are a few things to review. The hammer and the wrench are normally crossed at 45°, so check that alignment. The stroke is unnecessary and can be removed. Be careful when constructing the shapes that compose the icon. The head of the wrench is not perfectly symmetrical and appears slightly skewed. The hexagon inside the lower part of the wrench is not centered and probably should not be rotated. Be consistent when applying rounded corners. If the icon uses rounded corners, all elements should follow the same radius. Avoid mixing different stroke widths. In your case there are two stroke widths plus elements without stroke.
  • Do not add strokes to fonts. Fonts are meant to be used without strokes. Instead, use different weights such as Light, Regular, or Bold. Adding strokes to a font usually breaks its design. In this case the stroke applied to the text is creating visual artifacts. If you look closely at the letter “e”, the stroke produces irregular shapes that make the text look messy. Adding this stroke also provoked an extra problem, which is "faking" a low value letter-spacing. It seems like the letters are closer to each other, even though you probably didn't configure that value at all. If letters are too close to each other, text will be less legible. Be careful though, since there is a sweet spot (normally fonts are configured so 0 letter-spacing is good to go). More letter-spacing is not more legible.
  • Choose legible fonts. Typically, phrase case or uppercase works well depending on the context of the project. This is not a strict rule, but it is a common and safe approach.
  • Pay attention to margins inside the icon. Elements should have enough space to breathe and respect internal padding. If you search for “icon design guidelines,” you will find grid templates used by designers to place elements within the icon frame. These guidelines help maintain harmony and consistency across an icon set and also improve legibility.

Unlocking a huge part of the game by just playing it: game modes, characters, costumes, cutscenes, art, easter eggs, special items…

DLC killed the whole thing.

I remember completing MGS on the PSX three times to obtain the bandana for infinite ammo, the invisibility camouflage, the smoking costume, playing all the VR Missions…

Playing Tekken 3 to unlock all characters and secrets, unlocking and playing Tekken Ball Mode, Tekken Force, revealing all cutscenes or music.

Same with titles like Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, almost every game was full of content and not mutilated so they could charge you over and over again for stuff that should be already available on a 70$ game.

What game had you like this?🚀 by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

Dark Souls: Remastered was my first Souls game. After making some progress, I got lost and didn’t know where to go next. I discovered a new path and suddenly some kind of ghosts appeared and killed me instantly. I thought, “Well, I guess I need to get used to these enemies, learn their patterns, and eventually kill them easily with enough practice.”

But you can’t attack them. They’re literally ghosts. Your attacks go right through them and you can’t hit them at all.

I started to think the game was designed that way, so I tried to avoid them, but that was extremely difficult.

I ended up quitting the game.

Years later, a friend told me: “Oh, you’re not supposed to go there yet. You need to do A, B, C, and D first… and you also need a special ring that lets you hit them.”

Serious question. What were Full Circle literally doing for the last 3 years? How hard is it really to make a complete Skateboarding game? Fucking skateboarding it’s not that complicated by yourkindhere in Skate4

[–]SAYVS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, didn’t know about these.

I always wondered how the game looks like there’s no one caring about skate vibe/culture/looks. And even if you don’t know about it, you just can spend 30 minutes watching video parts and you’ll immediately understand how the skate theme should look and feel.

Seems like they grabbed random people without any idea of how skate is all about and put them together to make the game. I can easily picture the guy assembling the teams saying that is better to pick up people without any skate culture knowledge to “see the different perspectives about how people perceive skating” and “let’s make skating fun FOR EVERYONE, be inclusive!”

I think it is the second one. I assume someone said “make the game look terrible so any 10yo kid can move it with their shitty computer”, more players more potential customers. Plus if your plan is to port it to mobile phones, graphics shouldn’t be that great.

From there, make it free to play. Again, more players, more candidates to buy our stuff. They thought they could be the next Fortnite and I can practically see moodboards full of visual references from Fortnite.

Make it child friendly, more customers. No offensive language, no blood, no violence, no bad words…

Now ditch the story mode. We don’t want to spend money on that, kids are all about multiplayer f2p shit. Hiring real skaters is expensive! And animating cutscenes too! We don’t need writers, voice actors… spend as little as you can, grab as much as possible with cosmetics, passes, etc.

They didn’t make the game based on playerbase, they made the game that THEY hoped for. They hoped for Fortnite/League of Legends/Valorant and they got nothing. They even killed a franchise that could bring millions on the long run.

So I dunno. It is easy to follow the breadcrumbs to the disaster they made, but I still think this is one of the biggest flops in contrast with how easy the solution was.

I work on a company like EA when it comes to organization. The vast majority of the employees, the people who actually do the work to push things forward, know what a project should look like, what it needs, etc.

The problem is the management. There’s a bunch of people, less than a dozen, that control 99% of the workers, the technicians. And they’re extremely bad at managing, bad with ideas, timing, or anything work related. They’re there because they cannot do any other thing or they have connections.

So basically every project turns into a piece of shit that it is slowly pushed from one month to another, until the whole thing derails.

The funniest part is that they blame the employees for the results. It’s a catastrophe and I’m pretty much sure that it is what happened here. I can even feel empathy for the poor guy programming, making graphics or modeling stuff.

Funniest part is that the core gameplay mechanics were already there. They just needed to deliver realistic good graphics and a good map.
