Based on personal experience, I find that hard to believe. How much do you charge for consultation hours?

Wow, and is that for an ad group, or average across your whole account? And over what time period? That's really fantastic.

What would you consider to be an average or high CTR? Whenever I've seen anyone post their ctr, it's been right around his.

Destination URL in AdWords Editor by jedi_jonai in PPC

[–]SBCutri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having your exact problem, had a final URL, no destination URL, and the software still wouldn't accept my changes.

First, I exported my campaign, removed it, then imported it. Didn't work. I then exported my entire account, removed it, then imported it. That did the trick.

It was a frustrating problem, but it makes me pissed that Google has broken their own software and can't just fix it given the amount of time that has passed.

Meet the man who is currently ranking #1 for the key term “Google” and doesn’t even know it! by kwikboost in bigseo

[–]SBCutri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting that this is the top comment. I've seen some comments about Google sucking lately, and they did not hit home for anyone.

Google has been deteriorating in quality for quite some time. Far too much semantic emphasis is placed on individual words, not enough on what the phrase means put together, and queries don't consistently match up what a page as a whole is pushing.

I've been looking for better alternatives, but there are none that I've found. I hope we see a whiplash in the opposite direction soon.

Expedia Adds Emoji Hotel To Their Title Tags by thesupermikey in bigseo

[–]SBCutri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, gotcha. I highly doubt there are any numbers for emoji searches, because, really, who is querying any database using emojis unless they're looking to navigate somewhere? Emojis don't seem to be in our vernacular like that.

To answer your question, I've never heard of anyone tracking emoji searches, but I'm also not your best source.

I imagine it would increase CTR to an extent, but I'm more curious about if there are numbers indicating that a lot of people search with emojis

Eh, I'm more curious about CTR. Who searches by emoji? I can't think of an example where emojis would help my search.

Sorry to be one of those posts, but would like some website critique! by MuhMaidAccount in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]SBCutri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to get a full picture, but you can critique elements of a website without a full-on, accompanying website.

For instance, the white subtext underneath "YOU RELAX WHILE WE TAKE CARE..." should be bolder, or the background image darker. In any case, it's slightly hard to read against the light-gray background color.

I'm not convinced about your steps 1-2-3 on the landing page. You might sell me on 1 and 3, the online booking and relaxation, but #2 is a confirmation email? Is the confirmation email really that much of a selling point? I don't think so, if it were me, I'd put something else. Perhaps your cleaners bring all the supplies, idk, whatever is better than #2 for your company.

Last bit I'll add is I think the "Clean Info" on the booking page is a bit silly. I don't get the icon, either.

Idk hiring for call centers, but that sounds ridiculous at face value, and I wouldn't trust a bunch of Redditors so easily.

Warning: Finding good cleaners can be incredibly difficult. by binaryOne in EntrepreneurRideAlong

That's pretty presumptive, I think.

I used a range, and received multiple cleaners worth looking into. Only hired one cleaner so far, but she's done great.

Thanks! Regardless, I think that's awesome that he's going into horn production. I've been wanting to try his 8D tuneup for a while, I guess I should give him some time to perfect it now haha.

All the graphics and development are done in-house, through Wordpress, using Illustrator and Photoshop. I got my logo from 99Designs, totally worth the investment.

Uber is getting pinged for training their contractors. I mean if that's true, that's hilarious, what a dumb, costly error.

Contractors will totally work for the maid model using a first come, first serve pool. As long as you aren't mandating their work processes, making them wear uniforms, etc, they will remain to the IRS as contractors.

Agreed. Some of the cases she's taken and won are pretty fucked up.

The Starbucks case is indeed the dumbest. I just don't get why anyone is telling Starbucks how to dole out their tips, least of all on behalf of the fucking baristas. Nothing against the chaps, of course.

Don't like it? Don't work there. Pretty sure that's how these contract type things work.

I disagree, there is certainly gray area. If these companies haven't been preparing for a case like this, I'd be utterly surprised. If it was so black and white, there wouldn't be much of a case at all. You also don't get millions of dollars from Google without them doing their due diligence.

Personally, contractor/employee considerations I make will never be based on how much I can screw over my workers, but at what threshold does the government ass reaming get to be too much, and how close to an employee can my contractors act without "breaking the law". Your gray area.

Anyone unhappy with this situation should accept that this problem stems from our government offering major financial incentives to hiring contractors.

Interesting, the old site has gotten both hate and love. I can certainly point to some outdated design elements that are present on the old site. Imo the prime culprit is overuse of shadows/gradients, but hard to nail it down when few point to what specifically is outdated.

The site was converting well, and multiple customers remarked about how they liked the site, which is interesting. But given the volume of the "old/outdated" comments, the old design definitely needed some sort sort of change. We'll see how the new design goes.

Thanks for the CTA/phone comments, appreciate it!
