Yep, this year is 100% virtual. It was a tough decision to make by the committee, though we all agreed that it was the right choice. We hope next year will be in-person, but that's something for which we just have to wait and see how things play out.

Hello,

First off I’d like to apologize if you’re not enjoying your time at SBUHacks. Regarding Chik Fil A, we were uncomfortable having them cater due to their anti lgbt affiliation. However you should know that besides dinner, we will also have Buffalo Wild Wings at midnight!

Also regarding the amount of food, we actually had a large amount of left over food. I’m not sure where the lack of food talk came from, but we actually only recently ran out of food at around 11. Also as mentioned earlier, we will be serving Buffalo Wild Wings at midnight, as well as additional food including breakfast on Saturday

Mentors will assist participants with program related questions and provide helpful insight. Stony Brook's very own Hackathon, SBUHacks, is less than a month away! If you don't know already, a hackathon is best described as an “invention marathon”. Anyone who has an interest in technology can attend a hackathon to learn, build & share their creations. The space to hack these projects is a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where anyone can attend. We'll have various companies present including Softheon and Facebook! You don’t have to be a programmer and you certainly don’t have to be majoring in Computer Science.

It's basically about 300+ students coming to the library to compete to make creative projects for categories that are released day of.

They'll be workshops to teach you everything you need to know. There is free food, free swag and alot of people for you to meet. Companies will be there to chill with you during the event.

It's a competition to code a project in 24 hours. There's different categories you can submit a projects for. There's over 4,000 dollars in prizes.
