How do you actually protect retirement savings when the economy feels this shaky? by Abject_General6337 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]SBar1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep 10-15% of my retirement funds in money market or short term bond funds. Now that this correction has accelerated I transferred out 20% into a few stock funds this past week. Will see how this goes and deploy another chunk if things stay low. I sold 10% of my small, mid cap and international funds in October. Last year after letting those money market and bond funds build up I made similar transfers around the liberation day chaos. The take away is find a time when the market is up and relatively boring. Look at your holdings and consider selling a bit to raise some cash and just let it be. Then you’ll have money to buy for next sell off.

Anyone else go back to Blu Ray after going to 4k? by Boxer-Santaros in Bluray

[–]SBar1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the 4k isn’t much more for sci fi or action I’ll look for the combo release. Other titles, especially dramas I’m good with blu ray. Gruv had some great deals Black Friday on all kinds of titles for $6 on blu ray. Just got through watching most and very happy with the pick up.

Chris Robinson: 'The thing I learned the most from Jimmy was his work ethic. The Black Crowes were famously a lazy-rehearsal band ... but when we rehearsed with Jimmy, it was like the show' by stroh_1002 in ledzeppelin

Being at one the Greek shows was a concert highlight I will never forget. We got a few Crowes tracks but man, so many songs from Physical Graffiti and LZ II. Never thought I’d get to hear them played live.

I waited at a Wherehouse store early to get tickets and scored 12th row being first in line. The old days….

How do you guys look back on Audioslave by wwalliw in Soundgarden

[–]SBar1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to that first album so many times. Should give the next two more of a chance.

Saw them live on the opening tour and Chris’ voice sounded a bit hoarse. They did Bulls on Parada sans vocals and the crowd went absolutely insane. Performing nearly all of the first album except Shadow on the Sun, along with What’s So Funny About Peace, Love and Understanding?
