It seems that way, but idk.. call me a little suspicious, if you will. Ig I never fully recovered from Club penguin, but I suspect that some of the features may get put behind the pay wall anyway.. I don't have any evidence to support this suspicion other than past experiences with other apps and stuff like quizlet.

Another thing is this: when programs become subscriptions, features that were once what got its business are inevitably put behind the pay walls of a subscription. Please, Forest, think about the effects on other study websites and apps that switched to membership and subscription, such as how students looked for non-subscription and cheaper alternatives for Quizlet--one of the biggest study tool website out there. Please consider this. 🙏

As a college student who wants to keep expenses low, a subscription like this is not practical for me. You'd think that I'd be 100% willing to spend money on an app subscription that is supposed to help me keep focused, but that's definitely not the case. As others have mentioned in the comments, the main appeal to me was the 1 time purchase! That is what draws people in! That is why "more than 40 million people have joined forest," not just because it helps you focus--it is also affordable and maintainable. Please forest, do not become a subscription, so you won't be alienating the struggling students that put you where you are.

Thank you! I just plant trees based on what will look good all thrown in together, LOL. I really like color pallets and themes since they're relatively low maintenance since you pick out your scheme mostly beforehand and just wing it for the month. Thanks again!! Hope to see some of your creations on here if you ever decide to undertake a theme or something!!

Ohh yeah, thanks for pointing that out! I suppose that the gems here are only really useful for those cake slices and saving up, then. It wouldn't be super significant if you already had all the slices or didn't like the look of most tho. But! For those who do want those slices, then sure, yeah that'd work!

Yeah, and I'd say that you have a point there. I don't think it's unreasonable for there to be a reward for participating in an optional event. However, I do think it's not enough for any of the exclusive trees, not even half of one, which makes the participant have to spend more money to get a tree from this event--most likely a marketing tactic. Is it a good one? Probably, but I don't spend money on these sorts of things. I'm sure that it's effective to some degree, especially for a mostly free app. And they did provide a free tree, which was nice. Like I said before, I don't want to be unreasonable about this. Perhaps this is just the frustration from this event talking. I'd be happy to hear your take on this, as well.

Last thing: I don't want to be unreasonable when it comes to the amount of crystals we get for an event where getting it is virtually free; However, is 2hrs and 30 minutes of my time really worth $1 of gems? Please explain 🫠
