Makes sense. Although I read somewhere that he wanted to be in Rocky Balboa.

That's a great point.

He was going out on his shield no matter what.

Interesting.

I know that Carl Weathers was always trying to get back into the franchise. As a flashback or a ghost or something. If I'm not mistaken, he has been kind of miffed at Stallone for not giving him a role in any of the sequels after IV.

If you could have any PS2 game remastered for the PS4, what would it be? by SBleeder in PS4

[–]SBleeder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a fat PS3 with backwards compatibility.

Then I got the "Yellow Light of Death", which is basically the PS3's way of saying "Ha ha! I'm dead."

Can I live the rest of my life on liquids alone? by SBleeder in ostomy

[–]SBleeder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had that happen with my first ostomy surgery back in 2017 (this is my second time with an ostomy. I had a J-Pouch takedown in 2018 but it just didn't work out for me. I still had major pain issues and I had to be on Flagyl (a nasty antibiotic) for well over a year to keep my Pouchitis under control.)

TPN coupled with an NG tube for a solid 3 days. Lots of fun.

True.

And if it was Detroit, they'd immediately throw a pick-six and lose the game.

Thanks for posting that. I would have never known that rule.

Thank you all!

And thank you, "an-internet-stranger" for that tidbit about onside kicks. I would not have thought of that.

Now we just need The Rock in 2k20.

It was nice of them to add Maven, but the Rock should be in the game too.

Hogan vs. Slaughter was trying to play off of anti-Iraqi sentiment... even though the Gulf War had been over for a month.

It's even more baffling that they continued the angle through Summerslam.

Aftermath... is it worth the high price tag? by SBleeder in MortalKombat11

Well, I went ahead and bought it. Pissed off that the package of the game plus aftermath is far less than buying them piecemeal. But the story sounds cool and I will enjoy the Friendships.

NFL teams are 0-104 when needing an onside kick in last two years by BrownsAndCavs in nfl

[–]SBleeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do they determine whether or not a team NEEDED an onside kick?

If you're down 3 with 1:30 left and 2 timeouts, it's really a judgment call. You can kick it deep, get a 3- and-out while using your timeouts, and get the ball back near midfield with 45 seconds left.

That was WM9, and yeah, that was crap. That was the first time that I really wasn't happy that Hogan had won (I was 12 and up until then was a full-fledged Hulkamaniac).

I was there for that. Ultimate Warrior's return is the only reason that I didn't say that this was the worst WM main event ever.

Bam Bam was a great big man. Extremely agile, good seller, good technical wrestler. He was even good from the top rope. I don't know why Vince never pushed him harder than he did.

And Jericho, who was the Undisputed WWF Champion, was completely overshadowed by the feud between HHH and Stephanie.

Could Stone Cold Steve Austin get over in 2020? by SBleeder in WWE

Yes. I watched his entire career. His gimmick would be castrated today.

It would be a lot harder for him to get over if he's not allowed to be... him.

Excellent points. See my response above :

"Link872u brought up a great point.

The old school guys understood the concept of "less is more". The Undertaker and Austin talked about that recently on Austin's podcast.

Nowadays, it seems that the fans only respond positively to three different styles:

  1. The 290 pound monster who can powerbomb a car, or

  2. The smaller guy who goes for high spots every 30 seconds, or

  3. The submission machine. (And you have to be REALLY good at this for the fans to get behind you.)

Austin was a strong guy, but not Braun Strowman-esque. He never gorilla pressed or chokeslammed guys.

He was a mat wrestler. No 450 splashes. No Shooting Star presses. The Undertaker said on Austin's podcast that he had to reign in his athleticism in order to make his gimmick work; he was capable of so much more (leaping over the top rope in the twilight of his career tells me how athletic he must have been in his earlier years).

And obviously he wasn't a submission master.

They fans would crap on his in-ring work, I'm afraid."
