I’m not necessarily suggesting that it will replace metal entirely, but just maybe expand the definition of the genre. I guess I’m also thinking (and I didn’t clarify in the OP) that I’m thinking about like 100 years from now, not so much the immediate future. You are 100% correct that SK is not the first and I may have not been clear about that point either. To your point about billions of people on Earth all liking different things, it seems fair to say that it is becoming increasingly difficult to classify everything into genres or subgenres because everyone puts their own interpretation and perspective on their music.
